Hi people,

As im planning on going NA-T on my JDM 94 supra NA i would like some input on what to use for electronics. I am fairly new to the turbo scene and sick of mini cooper S'es hangin on my tail all the time :(. I live in the Netherlands and no one has ever heard of MAPECU here and they dont know how it works so i guess ill skip that anyway.

I am planning on getting 400whp as i dont want to stress the w58 to much.

Setup:
550 or 650cc injectors (650 for eventual big future plans)
XS power kit with pipes for IC
RPS sport series 6puck sprung hub Clutch
Walbro fuel pump
Optional (v160/v161 tranny when w58 breaks)

Does the w58 have aftermarket upgraded internals like an R154?

What ive heard so far:
MAPECU 2
E-Manage Ultimate
E-Manage Blue (is this a simple version of the E-Manage ultimate, i dun get it?)
AEM UEGO wideband (what does this do, heard its a must from some?)
Boost controller (no clue what this does)
Turbo timer (Whats the use of this if i got an imobiliser?)

I would change the list slightly

550 cc injectors
Bosch or Denso 1020 fuel pump (Too many issues with walbro)
Emanage Ultimate
Innovate Wideband (This monitors the air and fuel mixture which is the basis of tuning)
Manual boost controller (this is a $30 part that just allows you to set what psi you will boost the system to. no need for anything more than this)
No need for turbo timer its just for posers who like to stand next to their car for 5 minutes after they reach somewhere.

what issues occur when installing a walbro then?

and what does the mapecu2 do that the e-manage ultimate doesnt?

Just too many fake walbros around and I think that contributes to the number of failures. Perhaps the genuine ones are all good.
Either way, I dont know anyone who had a bosch pump failure. And better still is denso as its Toyota OEM. So thats why I use a denso 1020 pump.

I think DrNick hit the nail on the head in regards to fake walbros being the root of the problem. The answer to this issue is to simply buy a genuine pump off an authorised walbro reseller as they are the only people I would trust with my fuel system.

Or do as DrNick has done and gone OEM denso, great pumps and probably only overlooked due to the all too common false perception that if its stock it cant be good. Bosch 044 also are a great pump.

To the OP, I wouldnt be running a puck clutch in your W58, its been proven to be their undoing due to their "on/off" nature causing much driveline shock and failure.

Also im not aware what the mapecu2 does over and above the ultimate, I cant think of much extra it could have given that the ultimate has pretty much all the features of a standalone.
