whats up ya'll, i'm doing a 2jz gte mk4 swap om my 93 lexus gs300 and i need some help on the cooling fan. I'm thinking about running one or two electrical fans and forgetting about the whole hydraulic system. Do you guys know if its gonna be cool if i just did that.. and if i did what should i do about the outlets the comes off the back of the water pump.. can I just block it off? or i should just use the hydraulic system? I've seen a lot of gs300s that didn't run it can somebody please help.. one more thing, the 93 gs300 has three throttle cables, i know about the actual cable for the gas pedal and another for the cruise control, but I have no clue about the third and the gte motor so far to my knowledge uses only the two " cruse control and the gas pedal cables", any clues?

Depends on your climate. I live in a hot country and pretty much every electric fan setup I've seen has been shit, but if the weather isnt scorching then you have more chance of it being ok.
I have the hydraulic fan and a big aluminium radiator, but the engine bay still gets damn hot when the weather outside is 35-40 celsius.

Thanks for the reply man, I live in minnesota and just like its cold as shit during the winter, summertime it gets really hot. So i guess I'm just gonna go ahead and do the hydraulic set up then I. Did u understand what I was saying about the throttle cables tho?

I don't really know about the throttle cables. Could one of them be related to the traction control or something?

Possibly, I'm gonna have to more some research cause I gotta get this motor in and running and gettin a hydraulic fan for an Aristo or a supra is another worry right now. Haven't seen any used ones on ebay

Are you sure the 3rd cable isnt related to the auto gearbox?

Regarding the fan set up, unless you have a realy good reason for going electric, and you are going to do it properly with quality OEM parts rather than cheap aftermarket timebombs, I would suggest sticking with the viscous fan set up as it has ALOT of R&D put into it to ensure your car will keep cool in all climates, provided the rest of your cooling sytem is in good condition.

I have no idea, there is one coming from the front of the drive through the firewall which is the gas pedal itself. Now the cruise control actuator/assemble is on the passinger side of the eng. compartment, and the cable runs to the throttle body for cruising opperations. the third comes for the middle of the firewall and it does looks like it runs straight down the middle back where the trans is so that could be possible. I don't have the engine taken out yet to actually see where it goes. so if it does go to the trans then i ain't gotta worry about it cuse the gte motor comes with a trans and since it doesn't have a third throttle hook up for another cable i probably won't need it.

As for the fan i was actually talking about finding a used aristo cooling fan on ebay or something, maybe from somebody and I'm gonna take your advise and do it OE style, I work @ a toyota dealer and I can probably have get it through them it would be nice to save some $$ getting a used one but if i can't find a used one I'll get a brand new one. Please look into that cable business and see what you can find out man, the car is a 93 lexus gs300 with a 2jge in it.
