I have a friend who owns a 2007 Toyota Supra and complains that he has a hard time driving it. The car doesn't seem to respond to its steering, and he thinks it has something to do with the wheel alignment. He had it checked by a mechanic and it appears that the wheel alignment isn't defective. I suspect that is has something to do with the idler arm (http://www.car-stuff.com/idlerarm.htm). I just want to verify my suspicion and hopefully we can get this resolved as soon as possible. Any advice?

A 2007 Supra??

Are you sure the supra has an idler arm? My one has a steering rack, not a steering box with idler arm.

I would be inspecting play in the bushes, steering column, steering rack/rack bushes, tie rods etc
