I have been a very wishy washy IS300 owner. I have really wanted this car since i was a teen but definately couldn't afford it back then, life went on ....lived in Japan for 2years and there were Altezza's everywhere , i would easily see 20 in a day. Got back to Florida and finally found the IS300 i was looking for.(and a great price) then i started with a few little mods.

http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o273/b1gloc/MY%20IS300/IMG_0263.jpg
got a used carbon fiber hood for 125 but sold it for 140, wasnt my style

http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o273/b1gloc/MY%20IS300/IMG_0426-1.jpg
Got some 2" dropzone lowering springs for $100.00, and a smaller antenna. wax my car and used NANO Diamond spray , its sold at pep boys it basically spray nano glass particles on your car, it hardens the paint and always keeps my car clean(my wifes sentra in the background with the pink bodykit)

http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o273/b1gloc/MY%20IS300/IMG_0305.jpg
Headers, Intake, Catback Exhaust (my wife unloading groceries )

http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o273/b1gloc/MY%20IS300/photo-1.jpg i even thought about becoming a stance IS, but i didnt want to roll my fenders so i traded my rims for another set...

http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o273/b1gloc/MY%20IS300/IMG_0485.jpg
now i have these 17'RIAX rims

http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o273/b1gloc/MY%20IS300/IMG_0436.jpg
Then i realized Natural Aspiration wasnt enough, saw what the IS was capable of with turbo and started building a kit around the NA-T/ XS Power kit.

My Budget kit....

-2JZ-GE manifold T4, stainless TIG welded and braced
-Down Pipe, Stainless TIG welded with V-Band and football flanges
-V-Band clamps
-Gaskets (DP, header, turbo, oil fittings, etc)
-Oil Lines kit with all fittings and flanges
-24x12x3" FMIC
-44mm Wastegate
-Stainless Screamer pipe
-T4 67mm Turbo
-50mm V-Band mount Blow off Valve
-Intake pipe
-AEM FIC o2 UEGO
-Header Wrap
-Boost Gauge
-FMIC Piping
-Fuel Pressure Regulator
-255LPH Fuel Pump,
-2.5mm GTE Headgasket
-ARP Studs
-and having the Timing Belt and Water Pump replaced while the head is off.
FOR ALL THE PARTS LISTED I PAID AROUND $3500, LABOR FOR THE INSTALL WILL BE AROUND $3200(DYNO TUNE INCLUDED), SO AROUND $7000 FOR BOOST, NOT TO SHABBY
this was my car 2days ago......

I plan to be at 320-350rwhp and 320lbs of torque atleast, is this too much?

i just want advice from other people with IS300's that have used this kit, over on my.is people saying that my wastegate will fail, lot of people dont like this kit. so far everything is going ok.

the head is back on, the turbo and manifold were on for a test fit, new Greddy timing belt, waterpump tensior and what not. the head was cleaned up ,new seals valves and so on. its coming along, might be running by the end of the week, maybe a dyno tune next week?

please excuse my dirty engine bay, it has never been cleaned as you can see. when she comes homes i will treat her better lmao.
she will be done this friday and a tune next week .:bowrofl:

my plan at the moment is to tune at 9psi and aiming for 330-340rwhp, but i will probably ride around at 7psi or lower most of the time.

Nice man just finished mine also. Waiting for end results. Where'd ya get the work done at?

i got the work done at Ramey Built in Virginia Beach , VA. But yea ive had my car back for about a week. they did an awesome job with the install but they were to familar with the IS300 electronic so the tune has left me with a few rough spot. the car would run perfect in wide open throttle, but a little rough when just idling, but yesterday i had some boost creep, the Club NA-T wastegate is a little crappy IMO. but ever since ive had the issue with the wastegate not opening all the way i noticed it idles alot better and rides way smoother , but once i fix this boost creep we will see what happens.

Looks great, I'd be interested in hearing it and seeing some number when possible :)

I've been contemplating this same kit for over a year now, whenever I get sold on it, I head over to my.is to research some more and everyone tells me it's not worth it :(

Did you replace the WG, or keep the one with the kit.

How many miles were on your engine prior to install?

Thanks for sharing!

if you buy this kit there are other things you need fuel management, walboro 255lph fuel pump, atleast 400cc injectors, gauges, and id recommend a GTE headgasket and ARP headstuds. oh yea a cheap manual boost controller.

i got mine professionally installed and that was more money because there was small components needed during the install clamps vbands, fabrication of some piping. i wouldnt recommend anyone install this kit themselves unless they are very experienced. but the turbo, manifold , and wastegate seem to hold up well @ 7psi. we also changed the spring in the wastegate to 7lbs, i believe the spring was from tial. if i were to push for more than 9psi i would get a different manifold , turbo and wastegate. but luckily i dont want more power(yet). if you buy the kit you need atleast another $2000 for other parts and $3000-$6000 for a professional install,im using the AEM FIC, working good, the tuner had a hard time tuning it because he never did an IS before.

my car made 326rwhp/332lbs tq @ 7psi with the axle back off, but from axle back my exhaust is only 2.5'' instead of 3inches, that is a big power restrictor, so i am making less power for now. o yea make sure to zip tie all vacuum lines, do all your required maintenance, my car just got to 135,000 miles yesterday and runs like a champ. so waterpump, timing belt need to be up to date, also get some cam gears for timing i didnt but i should of.
also you break lines will need to be moved some and wrapped in heat wrap.

alot of people on my.is flamed me to lol ,
these were all the main things that came up .

Thanks for the thorough response!

How does your stock eshift feel? Will you plan up upgrading that or will just leave it stock?

Toyomoto valve body upgrade is worth it , now my car shifts harder and faster . They only cost about $50 also.

Ahh, that's great. I didn't even know about those. I was thinking you had to get the SRT kit.

What about computer, What tuning system was used?

joney3jonez
10-01-2011, 07:48 PM
I believe SRT rebuilds the tranny , stronger sprag gears , and the upgrade the valve body. But if you are at less than 400rwhp you don't need all that. With a tranny cooler and valve body upgrade our automatic tranny can handle 350rwhp well.

PM me if you still looking for SRT tranny kit, I purchased a few kits a while back to get a better price, holds 400 all day, most shops can install it if they can build a tranny too. pm me

I have a very good map for the AEM FIC , if Mark. Sees this message maybe he can preload it in an AEM FIC for members, I have shared this map with a few NA-T IS300s and one NA-T supra and it works very good, with 550cc injectors. My email is joney3jonez@yahoo.com . I will send the map ASAP .
