Hi guys, I was was getting some serious ignition breakup at 4000rpm+ on low boost with my NA-T on the AEM EMS. At first I attributed it to blowout, so I bought new plugs and regapped them to .025" and the issue was still there at 8psi 4k+. I know some people have this problem. What I did was reduce the dwell time with respect to RPM and it seemed to have fixed the issue. The stock calibration dwell settings in the EMS for the GE motor is too long! So, for some of you guys who have misfiring on NA-T try this before getting upgraded ignition systems.

How do I adjust the dwell time?

You can change COIL DWELL time by clicking the "COIL DWELL" tab on top. It may be hidden on your AEM TUNER so you might have to right click the tabs to enable it. Once you go in there, your will see a function of DWELL vs RPM. Whereever in the rpms you are experienceing some breakup, lower the graph at those points.
Additional info: Basically what this is doing is that as the rpms are higher, there is less time to for the ignition coil to buildup a charge and release it. This is usually automatically timed by the pickups in our ignition system, however this coil dwell multiplier allows us to modify the time to build the charge at each rpm. By shortening the time, you can be sure that it has A charge ready to fire when its called upon. This is my understanding of it, please feel free to correct me if i am wrong.
