I wouldn't advise a pressure washer under the hood as someone suggested, you don't want water getting into the spark plug galley, any moisture in there can cuase lots of problems

what about 2jz-gte w/vvt-i from Aristo?

what about 2jz-gte w/vvt-i from Aristo?

because no one makes aftermarket parts for it?
because you'd have to swap the oil pan?
because you'd still have to swap the transmission?
because it runs a hydro fan and you'd have to change the water pump to run the standard clutch fan?
because the harness would be a headache?
because power/$$$ ratio is very inferior compared to a regular 2jz-GTE? (or NA-T or 1jz-GTE)

GTE > 1.5JZ > (NA-T ~= 1JZ)

funny that this was posted. I got an email from a local shop the other day stating they had a 2jzgte available. When pressed for info about the engine, I learned it was from an Aristo.....and They know that I have an sc300

I knew it wouldnt work out....but I DIDNT know about the power issue compared to other 2JZ's ( Thanks Bean)

NP ;) Its more or less a power to money issue. The VVTI 2jz-GTEs havent really been dealt with much... they might possibly have a slight advantage over the non-VVTI in that they can increase spoolup a bit and fatten the powerband generally...
but the amount of money that would have to go into it to work would be pretty high... and I dont think the AEM is working quite well with it yet, you'd be stuck with piggyback stuff (or not use the VVTI at all)...

I think the best one to get is the JDM Supra 2jz and use the USDM harnesses and sensors and convert it over (its easy to find a MAF, stock turbos, and stock injectors/resistor pack).

I guess I understand how expensive these cars are to get going, but there is a line you have to draw somewhere :)

ive just been spending a lot of time with the nissans lately (Driving) and in still holding out for a deal to come thru on a 2jzgte for a few more months. if not then i'll go ahead with the NA-t :)

I did start taking the 400 apart, but its with me here in so-cal at the moment on a lil vacation ;)

im trying to keep everything together....just a bit too much 'on my plate' at the moment.

:(
