Hi to all, i just went NA-t and in the process of completing that project, i have a couple of questions, first of, i cant get the SAFCII to show the Throttle signal, i have it wired it i duno wat to do about it, also, i am told that the car wont run the 550cc's with teh stock maf, but my car is idleling rock steady, im sure its pretty rich, but still, also, does ne one have a diagram of where to connect the APEX'i Turbo timer? like on the ignition cylinder, wat wires do i use?

Yeah, make sure the throttle position is facing north-east. Make sure its not in the downward direction....

If all else fails, check your speed sensor. It COULD be thrown, but more than likely its your SAFC-2 mis-wired or setup.

its pointing up and to the right...im pretty sure the wires are connected good and everything...i'll check the other thing too...i have a quick question, is it just my car, or do turbo's not build boost while the car is standing still? i reved my engine up a few times, i wouldnt go up past 0 from the vacum side...also, my car sometimes doenst rev past 5k, looks like a bad AFR , so im gona get my AFR quage hooked up so i can pull or add fuel to get the car drivebal so i can get it to the tuner.

It takes engine load to build boost..by either bouncing off the stock revlimiter (dont do that please!) or using a 2 step... if you're driving around it will build boost no problem... sitting still just enters in a few different factors

ic...ok i have problems now.....first of, the SAFCII does not show the Throttle percentage....i duno wat to do with it anymore...checked everything...i need it right? just making sure. ok, second, my return line from the turbo keeps leaking, did everything...even sanded down the adaptor plate, it wasnt flat...hopefully tightening the hose all the way will fix that....then i cant figure out where to wire in my apex`i turbo timer, does anyone have a diagram? car idles sometimes, sometimes it doesnt, can some one give me the settings for the SAFCII for the 550cc's, and yea im still on the stock maf, i heard from some that it will work , from others that it wont, i mjust going to try it and see, so could some one give me a basic idea of how much fuel to pull and hwere, and also soem of the other settings, thanks

Of the posts you left on Supraforums, I never once saw someone show a working setup with the stock MAF and a SAFC2 to convince you that 550s could be made to idle correctly... i dont know where you got it from

I told you it wouldnt work, plenty of others told you it wouldnt work, hell I think even Dave H chimed in and said something about 550s not idling correctly with the stock MAF and just an SAFC. Even running the V8 AFM will still require you to pull A LOT of fuel out. By pulling out more and more fuel; you'll be advancing your timing more and more too as a side-effect. You'll blow your motor pretty easy with too much advance.

How are you going to get a basic idea of how much fuel to pull when you dont have a wideband O2 sensor?

Best bet for you is to shell out the cash for a V8 AFM... you can find them for $100 if you look... they plug right into the stock AFM harness plug. If you are bound and determined to run the stock AFM for whatever reason, then get an emanage; thats pretty much your only hope via piggyback.

I'm not trying to be mean or an asshole here, but I've seen you ask this same question A LOT and when the veterans come on and tell you "NO, get a V8 AFM" and then you keep fishing around asking the same question HOPING that someone else will answer it differently, well it gets really annoying. :) I hope you can understand.

yea man i got you, didnt mean to sound annoying, i see why it wouldnt work, but some one told me, i wish i remembered who, that the only thing that the v8 afm does is slow down the air to read it more corectly, they said that there is a possibility that it would work if you pulled enough fuel out,but i gues not, now im gona go out serchin for a v8afm , i ahve a buddy that works at lexus, maybe i can get a discount b/c i just need the shell itself

one more question.....my car does idle...is it not suposed to or should it still idle even wit the stock afm? b/c it does....ideled rocksteady from the first fire up...

check out http://www.car-part.com

its a junkyard database and you can find one easily that way. I bought mine using this database and I had no trouble with it at all.

The way the V8 AFM works is that its calibrated for larger injectors. It does have a larger opening in the bottom where the air goes through un-metered, but that is not the only source of its difference.
0v-5v is the reading range of both AFMs and its a logarithmic scale... the V8 AFM when reading a certain air volume reads a LOWER voltage than the stock AFM does. Whereas the stock one maxes its airflow out around 5v, the V8 AFM would be around 4.5v or something of that sort (remember the scale is logarithmic)

would that top one work? its only 40 bucks, and i can use my electronic, would that part work for me? also, anyone interested in a brand new APEXi Turbo timer? tell me if u are price is negotiable

Nope. Completely wrong year and wrong car.

91-95 Lexus V8... thats it... sometimes it will crossreference a newer car; then thats ok... but the V8 in the GS400 and 98+ SC400 has a different airflow meter (and VVTI)

Did the speed sensor help at all? What fixed it?

Glad to hear its up now!

yea man the sensor is up, thanks , holy shit.... this thing is crazy....i accidentaly boostted 20 psi, the boostcontroller hose came off and wouldnt control boost, it spiked to 21psi.....it was crazy...i almost broke my neck...i tuned it a little..pulled fuel to stop the black smoke, runs decently, doesnt stall, i pulled the cruise control wire back a little....so its in driveable condition now...pics will be here thurdsay, sorry goin to the beach tomrow.....no supra for 3 days again...:(

just ran into another problem.... one of the injectors is leaking...pretty bad too...i have bl 550cc's, are thye supposed to come with any rings or netyh8ng? b/c i just used the stock ones...now its leaking and killing gas bad

Bean

where's it leaking from on the injector? the top where it plugs into the rail? or on the bottom where it plugs into the intake manifold?

new injectors should have new o-rings. you prolly have to use your stock insulators (the round rubber things that the injector plugs into the manifold with)

Ravan17

leaking from the top....and now, the injectors did come with ANTYHING im calling boostlogic tomrow...b/c the fitment wasnt completely right....hopefuly i can get it fixed ...

prolly missing an oring or something like that... simple problem unfortunately you gotta pull the upper intake manifold :P

no the o ring on the number 2 injector broke, gues the pressure was too high
