i figure this would be a good topic to discuss seeing as how it may be useful to some of us.
parts needed if your an sc300: tt auto tranny, torque converter, tt auto flex plate, sc400 drive shaft with flex couplers, also i believe ems 30-1101 is also needed. i am preparing to do the swap myself here pretty soon i know there is a small amount of wiring required from the tranny to the ecu that can be figured out simply with some patience and cross referencing wiring diagrams.
if anyone has already done this wiring and can post what needs to be done that would be quite helpful.

im planning on running the tt auto built by boost logic and a lextreme torque converter(david is the man!)

any thoughts on this swap? is it worth it for auto sc300s and auto na supras? would a th400 be worth the extra money?

would a th400 be worth the extra money? That depends....... is 4th gear worth a lot to you?

the tt auto swap is worth it to me because this is a daily driven car and i like to highway race also. the entire swap (not including ems) is only costing me less than 2500. thats with the BL build and shipping and the lextreme torque converter.

pretty good deal, but i believe u can get a built auto for 1800, which they will gaurantee for around 600hp. then all u need is a torque converter and could probably land a used one for 300 or so

Wouldn't a built NA trans be just as good as a TT trans with the same build? The th400 would be nice, but no overdrive, and no electronic control. If you're going EMS, I like the idea of the 4l80e (GM heavy truck trans....basically a modern electronically controlled th400). Best of everything, but will take some modification to fit in the tunnel....that a340e is dinky.

The main advantage of the TT auto trans is that there are more torque converter choices.

Does anyone make an aftermarket converter for the NA trans? I just restalled mine again in hopes of achieving a higher stall, but would have liked a nice 9" alternative.

Will the turbo tranny fit into an NA supra? Just blew my tranny and was wondering if it would be worth the extra cash for the TT although my first gear would be ultimatly worthless.

this is a pretty common question. It will bolt up, but you'll need a TT TC, Flywheel, driveshaft, yoke(I think)...and after that your ECU won't work with it anyway.

"This is rebuild torque converter ..." (quoted from lextreme on thier website)
All of the NA converters I've found so far are rebuilt stock ones.
