I am new to this forum and actually just purchased a 1JZ with 5-speed to swap into a Triumph TR4. I am trying to learn about these engines and what I need to do to get 450rwhp. Basically, I am looking at either going with a single turbo or possibly keeping twins but upgrading them. My big concern is fuel and ECU. I don't want to blow the thing up. Can the stock computer compensate ok with bigger injectors or do I need more such as a piggy back or stand alone? If so...what do you guys recommend. I want something that would do a good job without breaking the bank. What size injectors should I run? Would I need somethng larger than 550cc's? I noticed ebay has some that say they are the high impedance and you can get them in 680cc or so. I also don't want to just put big injectors in and run too rich all the time.

I would ultimately like 450rwhp but would love to be able to do it on 93 octane pump gas. Suggestions?

I also need suggestions on turbo upgrades. Single or bigger twin? I want a responsive engine that spools quickly as I will be auto crossing as well. I would rather have 425rwhp and be very responsive than 450rwhp and have tons of lag. Does anyone have a set up that would resemble what I am looking for? I would love to have a recipie for parts but I also need to know where I can get them. Thanks, Derek
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks, Derek

What are you looking to do with this setup?
Auto-X

If you want a good setup you need to pick up a 1JZGTE from a Supra MA70. Then pick up a single turbo manifold with an Tial 38MM+ wastegate coupled to a Turbonetics 60-1 HiFi or similar 60mm turbo I would not go any larger than 67mm for that car. You will need a set of 550CC injectors high impedanc top feed and a good strong fuel pump with an aeromotive fuel pressure regulator. Coupled to a custom front mount intercooler and 3"+ down pipe to 3"+ exhaust. Coupled with a Apexi PowerFC and a good electronic boost controller you should be golden with 450WHP.

Good luck
