Hey Marc I dont know much about the VVT-I but did you eliminate it ?? Correct me if i'm wrong but the cam sensor is just behind the left cam sprocket?? of is that the VVT-I sensor ? Thanks Marc

^ To answer your question for Marc, since this was already discussed on my.is. Marc is still using a post 98 vvt-i GE head. He completely eliminated the vvt-i. He also had the cylinder head line bored to completely get rid of the vvt-i solenoid. Typically, the IS300 guys, if they are looking to get rid of the vvti would just get the camshaft machined to fit the vvt-i head and leave the vvt-i solenoid in tack. Marc, took it a bid further and it it line bored, replace the cam cap with a GTE cap and placed a GTE valve cover set.

real quick.. this is a little off subject, but what if any wiring did you have to do when you went from vvti to non with the tt motor??

He doesn't have a TT motorset, he has a modified GE VVTI motor. In Marc's case it shouldn't be an issue once he dropped the vvt-i, since he is running a Motec ECU unit.

correct...I still have the vvti GE head, on a GTE shortblock.....custom wireharness for fuel/spark and all sensors connected to my Motec M600 EMS

aahhh I see.. I have a customer who did a complete gte swap, and came to me with an issue in which he's got sort of a fuel cut @ 3500 rpm... I havent seen the car yet, but just wanted to know if there was anything you did to possibly prevent such an issue, but it looks like im just going to have to wire in the aem he's got sitting in the bac seat.. lol thanks anyway
