putting together a kit for a friends car. everything was toyomoto( garret turbo t4) except the manifold. purchased a manifold that was never used. bolts up perfect. this is not a home made job. it is a nice log style manifod.it is supposed to be a turbonetics. the turbo sits so high the exhaust housing hits the throttle body. i cannot even bolt it to the manifold. the distributor is also in the way. there would be know way to put a hose on it. what do you guys think!!!!! i have more pics if needed

same thing happend to me with my manifold, but ask kirk he was able to get his to work...i had a turbonetics log style, but after having fitament problems i just got a custom made tubular.

I dont have that manifold, but you need an On-Center exhaust housing to make that work, it will lower the turbo.. here is the diff between tangential and on-center:

yours is like the one on the left

Notice how the flange on the on-center is on the center of the housing, thus lowering your turbo on that manifold and making it fit

That looks like the FMAX manifold

The on-center housing may get you clearance from the throttlebody, but it's hard to say if that will make it clear the distributor. Do you have a pic from the front with the turbo in there?

The on-center housing will clear the throttlebody. And it will also clear the distributor as long as the turbo inlet is 3". It will be tight. That manifold is the "early version of the F-max/turbonetics manifold.
Original F-max manifolds used a flange for the HKS standard wastegate, the F-max/turbonetics manifold uses a deltagate flange.
Newer versions of the F-max/turbonetics manifold have the T4 flange moved back from center.

I have an on-center housing for a TO4B if you need one (I'll have to check on the a/r)

Thats exactly what I said over on clublex :)

My on-center housing is a .96 A/R. Kinda large depending on what you're using...but it was setup for a big P-trim turbine :) 4 bolt flange on the hotside

If you can use it lemme know
