Standalone options for my GTE GS300

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Right now I have a 98 GS300 and I'm currently building my non vvti aristo 2JZGTE to go in this summer. I'm also throwing in a 6 speed. I already purchased my parts for the single set up, cams etc and ordered 1000cc injectors.

My question is, since the aristo motors or any other JDM motor never came with a resistor pack, do I need to add one in? Or does that depend on the standalone?

I'm also not certain on which EMS to go with, since AEM doesn't make a plug and play system for the harness I'm running (jdm aristo) and the Universal AEM costs $2000 whereas I can get a microtech EMS for half that.

Which path would you guys take as far as a standalone?

Manual trans with non VVTi I'd suggest the APEXi Power FC for the JZA80 Supra.

Peter you can use the aem for the supra as it just needs a little wiring work as we can get it to work with a 1JZ.

I used a MKIII resistor pack on my 1JZGTE. Its alot cheaper then the MKIV unit, and does the same thing.

Depending on your power output, you could just go with a MAP-ECU.

On my turboed ge, the previous owner set up the injectors with Mitsubish resistor packs that he got out of a junk yard for a total of about $15-20, way cheaper than buying Supra resistors. Seems to work really well.
