hey everyone i just notice that they make supercharger for the is300. isnt that the same engine as the na supras??? and would that work?? taking the supercharger from a is300 and putting it in our supras. also wouldnt that be much safer then turbo charging it??

Also take into fact that you're going away from a proven method of forced induction. Cost would be very similar, but you wouldn't get the results desired IMO with a SC.

Basically right on target. Your spending as much or more, and it wouldn't be as efficient. Also, when you don't install it right, or have problems with it, nobody around is going to be able to help you, because no one else is doing it. Theres also not really (IMO) a "safer" route for forced induction.
Also, when you go to sell in the future nobody is going to want to buy a "supercharged" supra. Do yourself a favor and get yourself into a turbo kit. :)
I agree... turbocharging is safer than supercharging... period. Its less drag and wear and tear on the motor, it creates much less heat, it lasts a lot longer, etc... dont forget that it makes far more power and flows more air than a supercharger of the same size :)

just a quick fact on this discussion super chargers are about at 50% effciencey where as most turbo chargers on average are in the 70 percentile range of effciencey.

Plus you don't want something else pulling on the end of an I-6 crank.

for the engine there are better alternatives.

I realaly dont even know where you'd fit the SC anyways on the GE, i was pondering this the other day.
Its got more room than the V8 thats for sure :)
IS300s use it via SRT. But I think SRT has proven quite a few times they dont know WTF they are doing sometimes. How many times did they blow up the test car of the GS400 trying to develop a supercharger for it?

Well, i mean for a roots type I really have no idea without putting it right on top of the exhaust manifold which doesnt seem like a very good idea to me.
Maybe you could get a centrifugal to work, but i'm not a big fan of those.

Me neither, never liked having to wait until redline for maximum spool :)
There are no roots blowers for the I6 OR the V8.

In all honesty an m120 on an sc400 would be pretty mean though...
I think the sc300 is just too small and too easy to turbo.

I see where you're coming from. But a nice medium sized turbocharger would be even meaner. A PT71GTQ with all the fixings to run it at full boost would be absolute evil on the street. 800whp+ with good spool rates.
I guess its my bias. There's nothing a properly sized turbocharger cant do better than a supercharger.
