Hello all, I have been a honda enthusiast for about 7 years now and have worked with NA, Turbo, and nitrous cars. I am thinking about buying an SC300 and have been reading all the forums on them and the power potential of the 2jz. I want to build a decent 10sec street car and was wondering where I should start. I can find 95 and below models cheap but I am aware of the distrobitor being in the way and the non VVTI. I have read mixed reviews of whether or not the actual block is stonger.... and so on.

Question:
In order to get a good baseline for a 10sec car is it worth the hassle of getting a 95 ODBI car and then using a supra head or something of that nature? Or is it better to go ahead and buy the VVTI ODBII model, which has the coil packs? I live in VA and have to get emissions so that is why I was leaning to the ODBI car. I just don't know how difficult it is for the wiring to convert to a non distro motor. I plan on using a standalone system like AEM or something like that, so I don't mind doing some wiring if needed.

Thanks!
