Ok i picked up a nice aristo motor, converted it for use in a supra with all the right fan/water pump/ alternator/oil pan assy/etc...ive been collecting all the parts to run a usdm auto ecu/harness/fuel injector resistor/ignitor/etc. the motor was from an auto aristo. my SC is auto. can I use the NA auto if i run stock boost levels around 290 rwhp? i know the tranny should hold that ok, its not a drag car. someone said this tranny will not bolt up to this motor. i dont see why it wouldnt, 2J tranny > 2J motor. maybe the electronics wont work? how do i find out anyone know this info?

the electronics wont work if you are going to mate the SC auto. the SC auto is controlled by line pressure and the Supra auto is electronically controlled through the ECU. It will bolt up though. Your best bet is to find a Supra Auto which will hold ~450 HP.

damn. ok ill hunt around for a TT auto. are you sure though? my SC has the ECT, isnt that electronically controlled transmission? and if it is line pressure controlled wouldnt that mean that regardless of engine/ecu (like th400) the tranny will operate per torque stall etc.?

ECT stands for electronically controlled throttle.
And Im not sure about the TH400 but the TT auto needs the ECU to shift.
Maybe Dramon can chime in and explain more about the SC/Supra auto. You may be able to use the SC auto but I dont know how the ECU will react.
