Anyone using an S-AFC II only, in terms of engine management on an OBD2 NA-T car? I've heard of the OBD2 constantly fighting it, i.e. hard to tune, or having to reset the battery every month or so because of the OBD2's long term fuel correction. I'd take it to get dyno tuned of course.

This would be, say, on a setup w/ larger injectors, larger fuel pump, thicker HG. A conservatively 350-400hp setup.

Is there any last word on this being sufficient/safe fuel management at that power level? If possible, I'd just want something to set and forget. Thanks for your input guys.

If you really want something to "set and forget", especially at OVER 350rwhp, the SAFC/VPC combo would probably be the best.

Im OBD1, and haven't installed my kit yet. But when I do next weekend, I'll be using just an SAFC-2, and boosting 7psi on a PT61.

thanks, for the reply, hopefully I'll get some feedback from obd2 people too. I guess if necessary I can just convert to OBD1 like Kirk, and then swap back the OBD2 ecu when necessary. But I'd really like to keep OBD2 functional if possible.

Well, i have 98 na-t which is obd2. Well im on low boost like 8psi or so it seems to be good, but i think the obd2 ecu fights it when u boost a little more.

OBD2 is post 1996 cars which had a bunch of extra sensors that forces your car to have better smog.

A SAFCII is good enough if you're planning low to mid 300 WHP. If you go higher then that, a greddy ultimate or a EMS is recommended.

doesnt the greddy ultimate also control timing ass well?
