Called J-Hot about a 1JZ.

I called them up today since there only one state away, and it may be better to go inspect and pick up the motor I buy. Right now they've got a 1JZ/Auto/ECU/Engine Harness that includes all the exterior accessories & the intercooler, downpipe in place, etc. It's pretty much complete. Two things are either missing or broken, and that includes the throttle positioning sensor & the set is missing the transmission ECU. They will take $1200 for it. What do you think? Also are those two parts easy to find?

I dont think you need a trans ecu.. I thought it was built in to the main ecu? Hence the reason they have 1jz auto/1jz manual ecu's? :dunno: Just my guess

This is not true, the automatic cars have a separate ecu for the transmission.
You can use the sc300 tranny ecu but will have a sputter right before its shift points. not a big deal.
I did order one from Japan but has not gotten here

This place is where I got my engine when I did my own swap. They just sold 2 engine sets on ebauy for around $600 complete

I didn't need the additional ECU for mine. I have the Auto 1JZ ECU but running a 5 speed. No check engine lights.

I just got mine done for $325 after tax.. he said he wont do it again for that price tho lol.

All wires same color code, and full replacement of shielded wires. 24in extension.. 18 as chino said would work good, but its nice to have a few extra inches, still fits in there fine
