Just wondering who here that's gone NA-T has also done an LSD. Pleae only vote if you are already NA-T and if you plan to go LSD but haven't yet choose no and explain in a reply below. Thanks.

Jeremy,

I do not have LSD, I was very concerned initially, but after extensive driving in the past 2 weeks and some testing, I am doing fine without LSD. At my HP level, it is not a concern.

Use the money towards your NA-T project and drive it around first one you done the NA-T conversion and see if you really need one.

On highway pulls you probably will not even notice any difference. 0~60mph it may help a little if any, even with out LSD, my narrow 255 Toyo T1-S rear tires are holding up just fine.

Just took her out tonight to the freeway for a few more runs. Serious adrenaline rush tell you, really takes serious self-discipline for not doing 60~150mph runs, I should not do any more freeway runs without Valentine One, getting caught once at over 100mph, I will be done.

What's your estimated hp at the tires?

Car dynoed at 404rwhp/380rwtq. A set of good tires is probably more important than LSD for hp level below 500rwhp.

I was planning 500rwhp on a T61 but now that I'm going GT35R might be more in the 600hp range and am not sure if I'll need LSD or not. I'm currently running 285's but the sidewall is only 25 so this could cause more wheel slip since there's less flex than other sidewalls. I guess I'll just have to see what happens.

For that rwhp level, I think you better have LSD, going sideways on 3rd gear with 500~600rwhp will not be fun, one unfortunate snap, it could be over. Just for safety alone LSD will pay for itself.

You can always complete the project first and get the LSD later. If money is no objective, everyone would have LSDs.

Just FYI my car still goes sideways in 3rd gear with a LSD. :naughty:

I was thinking of making a LSD unit for the NA Supra similar to a Phantom Grip. I'm guessing it will be around $250 or so. Would people be interested in something like this?

Would this be welded gears for $250 or would it still be streetable? $250 w/core exchange?

Very cool... DaveH: How soon do you think we could have something like this available? Need a test car? :dancingco

Car is still at the shop but yes I opted to go with a lsd. The car will be around 600hp daily driven so i went ahead and got a kaaz lsd, and the racelogic traction control. Since the IS300 fenderwells aren't as big as the Supra's I can't really go to big tire size wise. I'll be on 18x10 275's.
