the 6spd does mate up to the Ge however I believe you have to change the driveshaft and rearend as well.

SCNAT on the forums has gone through what you're talking about... hopefully he will chime in.

6 speed swap needs:
tranny
slave cylinder
shift perch/linkage
driveshaft
rear end (6 speed has a unique diff and gear set)
one half shaft
and a bunch of other little odds and ends.....

you do need the front flange off a 6-speed dshaft, but you do not need to change the rearend if u do not want to. personally i like the 4.10 na gear to get out the hole

what about going from an auto sc, is there anything different besides adding a clutch pedal/master cylinder assembly. How do you deal with ecu and speedo issues?. Also, by rear end would't you have to change the whole subframe to accomadate the tt manual lsd because it has 4 mounting positions rather than 3 like na's. Is there a link to someone that's gone from auto or manual to the getrag on an sc?

wouldnt it be more cost effective to keep the N/A differential and just swap the ring gear for the TT automatic ring gear?

this maybe true but the 410 gears in the 5-speed diff will give you one hell of a hole shot, but not as good for a high speed highway pull:fingersx:

i think Dave put up some big numbers with the stock 5spd. i think the 5spd is stronger than you think. dunno for sure but ask him.

i was lookin through the parts book today.
all lexus SCX00 use the same diffential (p/n: 4130124030, superceded by 4130124030) this should mean you can exchange final gears from any SC.
97+ sc400 final gear is 3.266 (p/n: 4120119645) a closer match to the 6sp final gear. so rather than getting a 6sp diff why not just get a 3.266 final gear? anyone care to verify this?
