What is the most drivable/slippable clutch that can hold decent amount of hp? I know RPS carbon/carbon is very slippable but it is also $3k.

I currently have RPS max pressure plate (blue) and 6puck disk, this combination=completely unslippable.

On the street I always idle off the line which is also known as dog off the line. If I slip just slightly it makes a noise which sounds like tire is spinning while there is no wheel spin.

If I am racing I will try slip the clutch at 2000~2500 rpm, in this case it is fine but it felt like the clutch is grabbing too hard, somewhat like one foot on brake and one foot on gas to stall up the torque converter in automatic cars.

Anyone use the RPS street disk in NA-T?

Thanks for the feedback, is this the one you have?

The disk looks to be a street disc, should be more than plenty for my hp level.

Does anyone know if the pressure plate can be reused? if so I can just stop by RPS locally and pick up a street disk like the pic below. If it is more slippable the car would be so much fun and easier to drive.

According to MVPmotorsport:
'RPS Max Clutch with Street Disc for 1993-98 Supra Non-Turbo
This package includes the RPS Max Pressure Plate and the RPS Street Disc. It is a full face organic disc that is extremely slippable and the most friendly disc you could ever put in your Supra.

Is this the stock/oem NA disk?

i'm in a hurry so sorry for my messy response.

i don't feel like i contribute to much on this forum so i guess i will now.

supra4ever this is daniel the guy who bought your injectors and hg off of you.

i have the full face clutch as i wanted something that could hold power and be easy as a dd and didn't want to have to buy a new fly wheel everytime i changed my clutch.

anyways...if you wanna know how it personally feels you can send me a pm and i'll let you take the car out for a little spin.

:side question...how bad is it to not break in your clutch? i was in a situation where i really couldn't and only broke in like 50 miles or so and then was on the freeways going about 70-80.

From what I've researched, if you're going for 300rwhp or anything above this is the best combo in terms of streetable smooth engagement and being able to hold the power:

ACT Heavy Duty Pressure Plate + HorsePowerFreaks Sprung Clutch Disc
www.horsepowerfreaks.com

I think Power House Racing sells this exact same combo as their PHR clutch package. :dancingco

I'm not sure the avg boost'er will forkover $4500+ for the tilton even if 60% of nascar uses it.

Thanks Daniel,

That is very generous offer, I am fairly sure I am going with the RPS street disk.

How is your project coming along?

I am not sure, but I actually never did really let my clutch broken in, only drove it for 20miles before putting it on dyno. I did the clutch and NA-T conversion during the same time last year. Rather risk a clutch than driving untuned.

According to HPF, they also tested the clutch without broken in, and it held up fine.

I have an RPS street disk for sale along with RPS Street and Max Pressure plates. Selling because going 6-speed.

The disk is very slippable and well behaved on the street. I never tried the Street PP on the Track but the Max did great at holding 355rwhp road racing.

FYI, I'm going RPS Max with the Street disk in my 6-speed
