What do you guys think about it? Even after rewelding and milling it'll still be cheaper than the log style daveH.

I may end up pickin one up.

Its a peice of shit. I replaced 4 SR20 manifolds on my s14 and i finally gave up. Yeah it has a lifetime warranty against cracks but forget it. The money you spend shipping it out and getting a replacement over and over (not even including the down time) is better put towards a better manifold. I ended up with a sard manifold that I bought from casey at XAT racing. Better off sticking with a log manifold or getting a better tubular manifold.

I have one and it rocks. I also had the GTE mani and it is constructed the same.... and per the threads on SF they are bulletproof, no one has had any problems with cracking, etc yet and its been over a year......

awesome piece - when you get it it's like holy shit is this shiny, heavy and look at the welds, the thing is the biggest supra bargain I've found.

Are they making 1JZ products yet?

I just got their IC in :) . On top of the 4 holes they have (2 top, 2 bottom) for you to use as mounts, they pre-welded 3 brackets for you (1 top, 2 bottom). I didn't expect the brackets to be on there, but hell there it is :D

I just need to buy reducer couplers and the ic goes on.

What size IC did you end up going with? Did u make new IC pipes or are u able to use the Fmax pipes?

i believe this manifold is worth buying as long as you take the time to look over it carfully and weld in any supports necessary if not already done so. as for the flow of the manifold i couldnt tell you there. im not to sure of anyone making big power on these manifolds and how smooth the flow is. imho its worth the money to try it out

From what I've read and seen, the 2JZ manifolds are MUCH better quality than the ones made for SR20, Honda, and DSMs which are prone to cracking. I truly haven't seen any problems with these yet. Mine is coming in this week.

I bought one for the hellovit. I'll get pics of it when it shows up this week.

Intercooler looks good michael!

Dramon, any particular reason your not going with the DaveH manifold? It's a really nice piece!

daveH is too expensive, and it doesnt use a T4 flange.

I was originally planning on using rewelded stock exhaust manifold, but the ssa is cheap enough to consider.

DaveH manifold will last forever though.

I'll post the pics up when I get the manifold. I'm like an hour from SSAC, so fedex should deliver in a day or two once they ship.

I already have my turbo though and am trying to put together a solid budget kit.

Got the kit in today (shipped yesterday LOL).

Very surprised...manifold looks pretty good! Heavy too, I'm going to try to get a thickness measurement for the pipes. Port work isn't the greatest, but it should flow fine for most NA-T'ers goals.

Came w/ a 3" v-banded down pipe w/ the o2 bungs welded in. Going to test fit the o2's here soon.

Sorry, but comparing the 2jz manifold to the SR20 manifolds is comparing apples and oranges.... the little 4 banger manifold has less strength to hold up the turbo and brace against stress than a full blown 6 cylinder model would. In addition, the newer manifolds are coming with bracers that connect from the head flange to the turbine flange to furthur increase strength.

And the money argument doesnt fly here. You can pick up a GE manifold/downpipe combo on ebay for $300 or you can pick up a full blown commercial version for $2000... you do the math.

Again you cant compare the SR20 to the 2jz... two different motors... log manifolds when it comes down to it SUCK for bigger power... PERIOD... The little SR20 doesnt flow near the amount of air that the 2JZ does and the 2JZ needs a higher flowing exhaust (and intake) to avoid any power restrictions. Its a matter of displacement here, and the overrated SR20 (when compared to the 2JZ) is completely out of its league in every aspect. Granted they are designed for two different cars. But when airflow changes, design requirements change...

If you're going for 400whp+ I recommend seriously against using a log manifold. Nice power numbers have been achieved with a log of course... usually with nitrous or something though. If a car makes 600whp at higher boost levels with a log manifold, the car with a tubular unit would make A LOT more power.

Not saying that log sucks... they do have their purpose (and a very good purpose at that).

Only trouble with those XS Power kits is the turbo sent with them is completely wrong for the 2jz... it runs some ridiculous exhaust A/R... like a 1.05 or something.

so wait, are the manifolds from the ebay store called xs-power worth the $200? I heard the turbo flange needs to be modified a couple of degrees to clear the distributor. but other than that are they legit in quality?

Hey I got a garrett T04b with exhaust a/r of 0.96 and compressor a/r of 0.6. Will this be ok for my NA-T upgrade? Btw my goal is only around 250-300 rwhp.

Cheers.

No.

With that turbo, you need to be running a .58-.70 and no larger, or you'll have some pretty nasty lag without very much power either.

250-300whp can easily be done with a nitrous kit, don't forget... its a lot cheaper than a turbo :)

...yea, but a lot less fun. :D

That link posted here and the one post on the board which was linked to (did that make any f'n sense?) were some interesiting reading, though... like BrownDuckz, I'm wondering if they're making 1JZ stuff.

Yes, this is true.

At the light, I punch it, and pretty much the same as stock...gutless, especially with an auto. Many of times, the cars around me get past my front bumper by the time I hit 3800RPM. Within the next second or two, I am passing them, in my 4 door sedan, and they are like "WHAT THE!!!". Just today on my lunch break I did that with a C6 vette. Turbo comes on like a 150 shot of NOS. Vette could have easily wasted me, but by the time he noticed, I was a couple car lengths ahead.

Fun stuff I say.

Oh, and by the way, I have an SSautochrome manifold, and yes, I need to clock the flange to clear the distributor...but for now, I am using a rubber hose that somewhat wraps around it.
