i have been looking but cant find an answer ..my buddy is buying a 95 auto sc300 and is going to swap a 1jz like i did. but he wants a manual one. i am reading that the sc300 has 2 diffent 5 speed tranny tunnels. 92-94 and 95-97.
is that true and what is the difference in swaps if any. can i just get the 91ish soarer like i got and swap it or do i have to find a newer model one??? i know the w58s are different and how hard is it to find a 95 soarer manual swap setup... engine and all. i have been on jarco, jhot and about 4 others and cant find one?...

Nearly impossible to find one.

Never use a 1991 motor, they have factory recalls due to the PCV system blowing the turbos. That problem was fixed in 1992+

The only difference is between the model years about the tranny tunnel is, the newer cars are easier to fit in a v160 or TH400.

In a 1995 SC300, the electrical system is different, and if you put in a 92-94 motor, you'll have to do some electrical system rewiring for the alternator and starting system, but people do it all the time.

If you want plug and play (with just extension) you'll have to find a 95-96 motor.
