Im a member of is300.net and its been great for the past couple of months. Met some great car people and they became friends after so many meets. But since the new IS350 will be debuting and the "mkI" IS300 will no longer be in production the older model IS's are getting pretty easy to come by at around a avg price of $18-$20g.

With that price theres been a boatload of new kids purchasing the IS's. I'm not trying to hate or anything but it seems like these are the kids that where posting in "riceRus" forums just 2 days before they bought the car.

With so many of these "kids" joining the forum the people who have knowledge aren't posting as much anymore.

Another fast and furiously fake generation takes over.

Quite agree, over here in the UK, the price of supra's is getting quite low especially the NA's £4000 - £5000 ( 7000 - 8750 US$ ) fuel is one reason at nearly $8 per gallon that the older people are selling them and the younger kids with no houses to pay for are buying them, this is the UK site that i use, very friendly http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/

Maybe perhaps "kids" seem rice because they don't really know wtf they are talking about and whatnots. I'm sure a lot of "adults" are the same way back when.

I remember when I first started talking about the MKIV on public forums, esp the NA. I had so many stupid questions. A few years later here I am, a better educated man and try to help others out who is at a point where I used to be.

When I search my username for my OLD OLD posts, I crack up.

Good point Michael, everyones got to start somewhere learning about their new car, my NA-T should be ready for collection this week so i will be re-learning

Quick question. What kind of things do you have to do, to become a ricer? Not that I'm looking to be one. Just want to be able to spot him in a croud. LOL

ricer fly bys, rev'in your engine hard either on the free way or at a stop sign/stop lights. adding annoying or retarted vinyl's on there cars, metal wings, big thick color stripes on a car that does not come stock with them....some even still are rice lol....or eating alot or rice period haha

NO, YOU ARE A RICER.Is it the factory exhaust system that gave it away?

No.

Supra twin-turbo wheels, 245/275mm rubber, LS400 Brakes,
Eibach/Tokico suspension, 6000K hids, etc

No.

Supra twin-turbo wheels, 245/275mm rubber, LS400 Brakes,
Eibach/Tokico suspension, 6000K hids, etcOh dayum. Well I'll ditch all that and get some 22's, airbag suspension, put the SC300 brakes back on, and some ricer blue head lights!

Im just saying that your mods don't make you faster, and they don't aid you in harnessing your na power either.

Ex. 245/275 on a NA car will make it slower.
Supra "Twin Turbo" wheels aren't necessary on a NA car
Eibach/Tokico Suspension is nothing to be repping for
LS400 Brakes? Nice, but can your NA go that fast to even utlize that kind of braking power?
6000k Hids, oh okay, thats nice.

Post some real mods instead of dinky ones.

That is, if you're going to swap a 1J then I would consider otherwise.

i wouldnt call what u did to your car rice, but thats just me, plus +1 for the brakes, you have to have the brakes to stop the car, and the stock N/A rims wont fit over the TT brakes or even some other after market brakes, so the bigger rim is out of need im guessing here. the brakes are to stop the car when it can handel the speed down the road. and suspension is always a good thing, it makes (Sometimes) for a lower center of gravity, and less roll from the car.

By the way, I don't know you or your car, but I spy a body kit... something to think about before pointing fingers. :hay:

haha oh man this is great. If you guys havn't known me and brownduckz go back along way and he knows im joking. Right? :hay: Yup I have a body kit. I also have thick rims with thick tires? Why? Not because it looks nice, but of its functionality and traction.

P.S. - If all that talk between y'all was just jokes, then my bad and I'll gladly edit this. But it didn't come off to me that way. Sorry in advance if I'm in the wrong!!

Of course its all jokes, me and brownducks go back along way! Right brown

EDIT: As for MY sig, the only mod I have listed that I consider "dinky", as you so eloquently put it, are the tint and the sway bushings. I put those in there for two reasons: 1. to make my sig more symmetrical, and 2. because Daizen makes great products and TMEngineering.com has great service (although I didn't say anything about them in the sig), so it's kind of a "shout out".

I think many mods you did to your car is "dinky" Not to piss you off but I wouldnt personally sport those mods on my sig because its not impressive. Im not trying to piss you off Im just stating my personal opinion. I think your torque converter is nice though.

Please list your mods, because if you don't have a serious list of N/A power upgrades or a hair dryer under the hood, then you shouldn't have said the things you did.

Heres is my main mod list:

PHR Manifolds
PHR Map-ECU
Precision Turbo - PT61 Turbo
Spearco Front Mount Intercooler
HKS SSQV Bov
HKS 272 Camshaft
Apexi AVC-R Boost Controller
Koyo Super TT Radiator
Flexilite Dual Electrical Fans

btw Im 18 too

Ok, then I DEFINATELY apologize for coming down like that. So sorry bud! You're right, I don't know y'all, and, when I read it, it just didn't come off like a joke (but maybe that's just me, oops). And you have the power to back-up a body kit, so again my apologies. Yes, my mods are definately small in comparison to yours, but a mods is a mod, in my opinion. And come to think of it, I completely forgot that I have the Flex-a-lite fans sitting in my garage too!

So I'm sorry I "flamed' you like that, and I give you props for your car, and even more for what you've done to it at your age (not that I'm sooo much older or anything).

:sadwavey:  :op:

None taken at all, Its really hard to distriguish manners over the internet. I didn't take it as flaming at all, I totally understand.

Good luck installing those fans, I really got some power from removing them.

So my buddy with a full gte swap into his sc including a getrag is a ricer becuase he is young?

Nothing like a greddy t78 kit being considered rice because of the driver's age.
