Hey guys. I just want to let all you guys and girls know, if you want to go na-t and keep the factory head gasket, please follow everyones advise and dont go over 7psi.
I ran about 6psi for about a month untill i got used to the speed and had to have more. Soo... i turned the boost up alittle bit... and a little more untill i am running right at 13psi and let me tell you, 13 psi with 10:1 compression felt faster than my frends auto 98 TT at 19psi on bpu stock twins. We never raced so I dont know if it was faster or not. All i really had for fuel tuning was a sc400 maf, denso 550cc injectors, apexi safcII, and a seat of the pants dyno tune.
I don't think it was just over boost with the factory HG because the only damage to the engine was piston#5, it was alittle on the white side and a few small peices of it did want to be there any more.
Any way I have another motor on the way and also have an innovate LM-1 wide band (to fine tune the air fuel), a profec b specII boost controler, a greedy 2mm HG and arp head studs
