View Full Version : car gets really laggy/slower when it hits 0 vac/boost

i have a 93 sc300 auto that i converted to a 5 speed w58 and then a 5 speed r154 soarer 1jz with an auto ecu. all has been alright but lately it has been getting alittle crazy. when i hit the gas at any speed, any rpm, any gear when the vac gauge hits around 0 it lags and gets slower and seems to get jumpy and then jumps up boost and takes off. i just ordered some 550cc injectors thinking that it is the fuel problem but i dont think that is it. i was also thinking it might be because of the auto ecu, with the ecu thinking the car is idling all the time and then BAM boost... other than hunting for a 5 speed soarer 1jz ecu i am stuck? i have had a few issues with the turbo i got from xspower with lag and i am guessing that is normal. i hit 0psi at around 3500 and then boost comes after the jumping (more jumping if upshifted a gear.) i have basic mods, fuel cut controller, speed cut controller, single setup, fmic(not xspower) full hardpiping, narrowband air fuel 255 fuel pump, and soon to be 550cc usdm tt injectors.. any thoughts on this or anyone with simular problems

well, i can tell you for certain its not ur auto ecu. I am running an auto ecu and it doesn't do that. I don't think the turbo is ur problem either. Sounds like tuning to me. Any CEL's?

no cel but it might be the cel wire. i had to rewire it when i did the swap.i can check codes and it does what it is supposed to do but comes up with nothing

What are you using to tune. It sounds like youre running lean when you stomp the gas for a second.

Have you done the 12v mod? Your fuel ECU could be bad?

12v mod is done and yes the car seems to lean... i just ordered some 550's

ok installed the 550's and the 0psi lag lean is gone but... when i put it at 15 with stock injectors it would push you to the seat and now it runs great and when i put it at 15 it seems like it got slower but it is running richer??? what happened??

And you tuned it for 550's how? Did you install the resistor pack?

resistor pack is in and it runs great just really rich... really rich!! and i guess i have to get a safc2 to have it dyno tuned..
