ok im doing a new turbo setup on my car with a v6 motor, abd the turbo i want to use has a twin scroll housing.
i was told that if i run 3cyls to each side of the scroll i would need to run 2 wastegates is this true.

can i just merge all 6 cyls before the turbo and run a standard t4 flange instead, or does spliting the ex(3cyls per side) into the twin scroll housing really make a big diff is spool time?

Yes you can merge it all into one. It'll be easier to do plumbing wise, and will not
make your wastegates fight each other. Use the T4 housings, not the twin scroll.

NO, that won't work. Merge all 6 into one collector yes. Twin scroll doesn't work the way you're thinking it might.

Why not do a pair of T3's?

Regardless, if you do six into one, you can place the turbo on one side and then run a crossover pipe to that side. no need to worry about equal length runners, etc.... the piping is now pressurized (by the turbo back pressure) so just get the gases to the turbine at one collector and you're good to go.

Thanks,

to make more power then im making now id have to run a pair of t3/t4's. a pair of 60 trim t3's would move slightly more air then the single t4.
and since the car is more of a drag car then anything im thinking the single large turbo would be better.not to mention a single 1.05 housing should spool sooner then an pair of t3 .63's.

How much power do you want to make?

To make that power, what CR are you at and what is the fuel you plan to run?

doing any water injection?

the motor is 8.5-1, i originally built it with 9.0-1 but when i swaped out to copper head gaskets it droped my cr.its also got a mechanical 272 cam so ill be spinning the motor to around 7,700-7,900 rpms.on the street ill run pump gas with limited boost.with the t3/t4 i was able to run 15-18psi before i would start to ping but im sure witht he larger turbo that number will be lower.on the track ill run leaded race fuel.

no plans on meth injection yet though if i need it i will do a meth system, on a side note when e-85 becomes available in this area i will deff retune to run e-85 on the street.

im still deciding on an intercooler setup for the car and i am leaning twards the air to water intercooler right now but before i deceide i have to think just about how much im going to street drive the car.
