Boost gauge and a wide-band O2 sensor with appropriate gauge
after that the rest are optional

Boost is a must, then personally i'd like to have an EGT.
afr is nice but i'd really only mess with that when i'm tuning.
Water temp is nice too.

Imho
1. Boost
2. Wideband 02
3. Fuel pressure
4. Oil pressure
5. EGT

Remember that rotaries function differently... 2jz boys dont use them as often. Wideband O2s are just so much better in the piston arena... the only reason for not having one is because one cant afford it... and they are getting a lot cheaper nowadays.
So an EGT guage is not as important as the oil pressure, oil temp, and water temp guages?

my list would go as follows:
boost gauge
w/b
fuel press.
egt
oil press
I have no clue what I did, but I'm sorry HTB lol
When you have a wideband you dont really need an EGT that much, unless you're doing some highway rolls quite a bit... i didnt rank those gauges higher than an EGT
I'd rank it
Boost
wideband
---
tranny temp gauge (for built autos)
egt
oil pressure
fuel pressure
dont need more than that imo

If you are getting EGT or Boost gauge, pay a little bit more and get the one with peak/hold and warning light.
My Greddy EGT gauge has this feature, you can pre-set the warning, the red light will come on at pre-set temperature.
When you are doing a highway pull I doubt you will be paying much attention to your EGT. With the light you can't miss it.
I wish my boost gauge had the same feature.
