Ok heres my deal/problem that nobody can answer. I have a 95 Supra 6 speed with a NA 5 speed differential. It was all great untill I went to the track and destroyed that diff. I bought an AUTO TT differential. My question is : Is there a size difference between just the REAR half of the driveshafts of a NA 5 speed and AUTO TT? My driveshaft seems that its a little short when trying to bolt it on the Auto TT diff. When bolting the driveshaft to the differential with the center bearing completely off, then trying to bolt the center bearing onto the frame it wont reach. And im assuming the axles are the same because those seemed to fit good. Im hoping I can get a better answer here then on SupraForums.

The axles will work. You will need to get the rear shaft from an auto supra.

Should have asked you in the first place. You wouldnt happen to have one would you? Besides that car still runs like a champ.
So the rear shaft from NA 5 speed/ 6 speed / and AUTO TT are all different sizes?

Sry, I dont have one...
Im glad the car is running good. Have you had the car on a dyno? Im curious as to how much power you were making when the stock diff let go. Were you launching the car? Street tires or drag radials?
Yes, the driveshafts are different...

The car put down 427whp on race gas 21psi. I was launching with a 2 step on nitto drag radials. Had some wheel hop and learned my lesson. 12.0@119 with a 1.9 60ft

Will do ;) .. Do you know which rear halves of driveshafts are the same? Or are they all different, na 5 speed, auto tt, tt 6speed. na auto?

The rear driveshaft from a auto TT car is longer than the rear shaft from a 6spd car.
You're safest bet would be to keep the front shaft and try to find an auto rear shaft.
the front shaft is specifically for the 6spd. The problem with your car currently is solely the rear shaft. With the auto TT rear shaft you shouldnt have any problems putting it together.
Are there any other supra owners in the area you could borrow a shaft from?

Not exactly. If anything I will give Don a call at Accelerated Performance he will help me out but I put the car away for winter. Ill just have to buy/trade for a rear half from an Auto TT.

Yea I saw that but I was wondering weather the NA 5 speed rear half would be the same as the 6 speed rear half so I can offer people trades.

i feel you bro, a good driveshaft shop will not charge you more than $350 for a quality one, the key to keep it low cost is to avoid telling the guy is for a supra or lexus, hahahahaha, but i know when things go tuff is a PITA to spend on stuff like this!

You have a 6spd complete driveshaft.
How did you use a complete 6 speed driveshaft with the 5-speed NA rear end? I didn't think that was a direct swap.

people who do 2jzgt swap on Aristo's actually get custom driveshafts because the 4spd auto is longer than the 5spd auto. A custom driveshaft should cost around $350 in socal, and probably no more than $500 for something that will handle as much as your v16x will.
if you have an access to an used one cheaper than a new custom driveshaft, then go ahead and get it. If you're going to buy OEM driveshaft, I'd say consider the custom one.
