remember i had a thread on sf about my car boosting to 19psi on stock compression? i found the problem. the clutch is slipping. right after a strong pull, the car revvs very high very quick from a stop and doesn't really go anywhere. so the stock clutch is good for about 1 pull, then when it heats up, it's a POS and doesn't hold any power. so this is what is causing my boost spike
too bad i can't afford to buy a new clutch for a while.......
holy shit this smily is fuckin great. had to test it out haha :op:

lmao. Same thing here, boosted through third and the clutch slipped for the first time.. Its like aids, it only gets worse from here...
:roflwtf:
I boosted hard for 2 months before my stock clutch started slipping... it only slipped on top end (past 5K)...took it out and it still had some meat on it

More info on the clutch...? It will work on a w58 MKIV 5 speed? How does it compare to other brand new clutches? (RPS, etc)
Please PM me with details and be as not bias as possible.
Thx

I doubt they make it for the W58.
I heard most of the Nissan-based clutch companies dont make clutches for Toyota motors because of the torque difference :)
Best bet is to go with what works and what's available

When you finally go turbo and upping the boost yes, mine slips in 4th and 5th with 12psi and clutch is only 8k old, rps 6 puck next

I was only going to boost to 5.8psi as I will be running stock injectors and HG as I cant go for the stage 2 kit due to insuance.

Its basically a heavy duty pressure plate with a 6 puck copper ceramic and sprung hub. It lived forever in my sc till my tranny busted. BMS sells them for the SC for 400 shipped.
