Here's a fact: Supra na mkiv w58 tranny is exactly the same as the SC300 1995-2000 w58. However, the SC300 92-94 uses a different w58 tranny, because the shifter is different in length. Now if you use a SC300 95+ or MKIV w58 tranny on the SC300 92-94 models, you will most likely have to cut the trans tunnel to correct the fitment. This particular w58 will be 3 inches longer on the shifter area.
Now my question is, say I'm able to get a hold of a w58 tranny from the SC300 1993, and use it on my SC300 1992 for a 5spd conversion, would I still need to cut the trans tunnel. Or would this simply be a straight bolt on. I know the shifter will line up perfectly to the center console being the fact that it's a 92-94 tranny.
