HaltecK E6K....anyone running one on their 1jz or 2jz?

Just wondering how hard is it to wire it up since is not plug and play?

or would it be easier using a fields harness?

Fields harness is worthless in this situation for the most part. Your best bet is to just wire it yourself which should be fairly difficult unless you already have experience in that area because there isn't anyone else running one and no writeups. Just go AEM and save yourself a TON of hassle.

A half field's harness would work quite well here IMO. The E6K comes with an open harness and merging them with the correct wires would work pretty well.

Used E6Ks are dirt cheap too btw.

Using the half-harness, you could ensure that you could run off your stock ECU if you needed to in a pinch (like getting it to a dyno minus a flatbed towing fee)

You make it sound so easy..

Not sure if this of any use but I am running a e6x it was fairly simple to wire up. I cut and solder, no jumper harness. It took me about 30 mins.

could you supply me with the wiring diagram to do this as i am about to get the e6x for my na-t setup and rid myself of the piggyback crapola

once it was wired did you use a map sensor and what else did you use , how well did it run for you

before you do anything check to make sure you can find a map, I am having a hell of a time trying to get my 1jz rx7 running with the haltech e6x (lack of maps and lack of haltech support on the older ones). I think haltech might possibly be a way to go but their website faq makes things really difficult to get the things running. I would suggest AEM just becouse so many people use it but if funds arn't their...I would save up for one and save your self a ton of headaches.

how does the F10x work with the stock ecu? Do you need to retune it or does the ecu not self learn anymore with it's long term fuel trims? Please PM me with any help you can give me, i'm trying to decide what to do for management.

what are the big differences between the haltech units? I have done some reading on the e6x, and e6k, and f10x, but cant seem to find much of a difference. Any information would be great, cause i am taking my SC to the next level on its build, and want a standalone that is fairly easy to install, and have tuned, but one that wont cut me short on performance capabilities.

if anyone can pm some knowledge to me that would be great, dont want to thread jack anymore than I have..sorry OP.

I have a 2jzgte swapped BMW e30 in which we are finishing up the wiring. I am not a mechanic and i hate electrical but my mechanic is not having any issues wiring that thing up. They work great and i know people running those old DOS standalone ECUs and they all work great. Let me know if you have any questions and i may be able to help.

Haltech still have the wiring diagrams on their website if you need it.
