Hi i've been looking into this kit and im very interested in it. i plan on getting a Na supra but im trying to get some major HP.over 500. Will this kit handle that or will i have to upgrade later? I know i will have to get a thicker HG or possibly just get new lower compression internals, fuel pump, injecotors, and a ecu to tune it. im looking at i believe its the te 400 transmission. im not sure if i spelled it right but i know its like a drag transmission that will hold up to 1000hp and you can shitf manually but its a auto . just wondering if the kit can handle about 500-600 hp, and what else would be needed to get those gains. Thanks

The kit can pretty much handle whatever power you want out of the T61, you can push 600 thru the T61 - 600 at the wheels. You will need to build the car past it's limitations - the tranny and diff being the major hurdles (diff is fine, but one wheel drive with 600 hp is no fun). For that power level you will need good engine management (mapecu2 or aem standalone), a wideband, injectors, head gasket, full exhaust, and as mentioned a decent tranny. TH400 is the hotsetup of big power, so if you can get one, get it.
Thanks,
Mark

on another note, this KIT is capable of breaking ur stock car! if u do the supporting mods, like the HG and the other stuff u guys are talking about, than this kit will put out 5-600HP at the wheels, this kit is just as capable as the daveh t61 kit or the boost logic stage I kit. the manifold can handle more power than that turbo, the intercooler can also, and the waistgate is pretty good, so the things that matter at high HP are fine, so u can max out the power of this kit and all ud have to change out of the kit ( not including supporting mods) would be the turbo and maybe the wastegate. but thats over like 600HP!!!!
ive had 2 of these kits and love them! i spent maybe MAYBE $2,300 bucks on upgrading my car (including clutch, HG, injectors, SAFC, the kit, 3" turbo back exhaust boost controller, and alil more!), and im at 18psi (low to mid 400's HP at the wheels) and my car cant be touched by any stock car i can find on the road!

Thanks i greatly appreciate the help. i just want to be able to try and be in the same league as the tt supra. i know the tt has better brakes and a few other things but iv eheard the Na engine can put out a lot of Hp just not sure if the internals can handle it.

the TT brake calipers are a direct swap. you can also swap the abs system if you're really that anal about braking.

The TT supra put out 320 CRANK hp when new, today a stock TT Supra after 10+ years on the road is putting down 256WHP if nothing in the motor wore (and they pretty much don't wear).
So if you are putting down 330WHP you are smokin a stock TT supra. ;)

the na internals can handle anything! lol... i think the NA bottom end record was like 980WHP. that is stock crank pistons and rods! so dont worry about the internals! lol

What is the limit on the vvti motor. Asking because I have a 99 gs300 and want to know that is the max boost and whp I can make with your kit.

Depends who you ask, most people say the stock motor isn't good past 500. I think it fails most frequently due to bad tuning which causes undue stress, but I'll go with the crowd and say stick to the 500 point. The rods are weaker (though I've not seen many failures) and the pistons, while strong, seem to have a design that just does not lend itself to boost.
Hopefully I can push my IS past 500 and talk to this better this summer.
Keep in mind that most people don't go past 350-450 whp because of the limits of the stock auto/mt.

wow i really didnt think that the stock bottom would hold up to that much. so what supporting mods exactly would i need aside from what i will list here.
*Thicker HG
*Fuel managment (whta would you reccommened)
*Fuel pump
*Injectors
*Tranny
what is meant by wideband? the air/fuel guage? or controller?

looks like you have the list down pretty good, WB02 is for air fuel monitoring. As for fuel management, right now I'm suggesting your choice of: emanage ultimate, AEM FI/C or MAPECU 1 or 2.
Thanks,
Mark

Is the t61 limit to 600 rwhp on the 2jz gte six speed?.Is capable of pushing more?..Mark you stated you are running this kit.. But i an not sure about your set up & numbers, and what motor you running in your car.If you dont mind sharing:)

I had the T61 on two of my GTE motors, both mad 580 at 25 psi and there was more left. I'd say you're probably at the limit at about 29 psi and 640 whp.

Hey Mark, Do you sell those really loud ass turbos? Not sure what their called.. sounds like a jet. :dunno:
those are the HKS T51R turbos as ramrod mentioned. there's two versions; the KAI and the SPL, the SPL makes more power. They're expensive though; they're in a different price league than these kits. the turbo alone would cost more than the entire T61 kit.

how long will the pt61 last at 29 pounds????

they sound like that because they are ball bearing turbos. You can run the new GT35R and it sounds like that.

Hey Mark !!!
Greg here from Duarngo CO. I purchased a T61 kit from you maybe 2 years ago.
I did a swap into my Hard top na supra and the results were asome. I sold that car actually and bought a boat in the Bahamams with a friend.
Just recently I purchased a extra clean 1994 six speed with the exact same kit on it.
My question is ....how much boost do you think I can run on it with the stock fuel system ???
I have totally forgot how much boost I was running on my last kit I bought from you.
The guy I purchased it from has a 17 psi tune on it and how much power do you think its putting down to the wheels ?
Hope to here back from ya
Take care Mark

Hey Greg, shoot me some pics of your boat man! That's awesome.
The kit on stock fuel (usdm) is really safe on 93 at 18-19psi. At 17 psi you're probably puttin down around 450 to the wheels on a stock ecu. So bump it up just a bit and enjoy. congrats on the new supra. Hope you stick around here.

hey guys, im not going to tell much about this since i dont think i am supposed to, but i have found a thread where someone (i wont tell who) was putting down roughly 750whp on the xspower t61, xs manifold, and xs intercooler. i think the wastegate was name brand tho.
so its an unconfirmed # but just something to think about.

So mark,
Here are the specs of my supra, Its a really clean 6-speed interior is near mint, wingless.
t-61 kit
rps dual clutch
intercooler sprayer
dual manual boostcontroller
SAFCII
inovate wideband
line lock
bcc
greddy timer
greddy boost memory gauge
12volt mod
So add fuel system to this car and turn up the boost to 25psi and Ive got roughly a 600RWHP car ???? maybe DLI
thanks Mark

I know who that is, and I am sure when he's ready he'll post up here :)
Nice #

nice boat, need more pics! The setup looks nice, I would suggest adding fuel with a meth injection setup rather than injectors. Life will be much easier but you will need to find someone who can tune with that setup.
