I have heard much about needing to block off the EGR, the problem is I have no idea what it is, what it does, or even what it means. I know where it is and thats about it. If someone could enlighten me on this subject that would be great.
Also, I wanted to know if there are any websites that sell oil kits. I know boost logic has one for $225, but I've been looking around and I dont think they should be that expensive. I mean I'm not looking for something thats like 50 bucks, I'm just sayin $200+ is a little steep for me. If any suggestions let me know, otherwise I will be waiting even longer for my NA-T conversion.
Thanks,
Jacob

The infamous DaveH has a full oil line setup for any turbo application.
You can contact him at daveh@to4r.com. I dont want to disclose his price but its cheaper then the BC lines. It isnt $50 though, you have to remember that the oil feed/return line is one of the most if not THE most important aspect of the system to keep your turbo running. So please don't skimp out on that area.
And just FYI, DaveH is the god of turbo. So if you need anything, bow down to him and buy it.
There is a tutorial posted up in the nonturbo section as a sticky... and also a stickied oil thread in the NA-T section that deals with nothing but oil lines :)

thanks bean.
I have read both of those threads before and dont know why I didnt remember either one?! :ugh2: One question though, why do cars have the egr to begin with? From what i read on that thread its only bad for the engine? I saw he said somethin about emissions, but i would think it wouldnt effect that. I may not know exactly what Im talkin about, but it seems that the egr just puts hot gas into the engine? O well, 45 bucks from BL eh, thnx Ill have to add that to my list.
On streetdynamics website, they offer a egr blockoff and a regular egr blockoff, and an egr block off, tapped for stock temperature probe. what does that mean?
seems to me like the hardest part about the oil is gonna be the drilling. I guess theres no way around drilling for the oil return?

maybe a stupid question, but do jap (JDM) models have the EGR system?
Or is it to do with USA emissions?
JDM motors dont have EGR
EGR is a emissions requirement in the USA just like a catalytic converter. Its functionality is debateable however :)
Blockoff for a temp probe means exactly that, its setup to run an EGT gauge (which uses a temp probe)
There's no way around drilling for the oil return... if that part of it turns you off from doing a turbokit, then you don't need to be doing it yourself. Its not hard, you just need the right tools.
