alright, so I was talking over on supra forums, and apparently a couple of the guys bought some of the sweatshop made tubular manifolds and said that the fit was good and the quality seemed good too. I have had terrible experience with ebay so far so I seriously doubt Id buy any other parts off it, but I was just wondering if anyone on here had bought one and what your experience was with it?

What's wrong with log manifolds. Mine works great. Going on 5 years. :)

Toyomoto log manifold isnt quite a true log manifold; it has large ports and large inner diameter and has properly routed runners... something none of the other log manifolds have since Toyomoto's old log manifold is the only one on record that is actually a CAST unit.

alright well u guys talked me into it...bidding on one now..
I bought one of those exact manifolds the other day. UPS Tracking shows the delivery date to be Friday!
Let's see pics of it mounted with a larger turbo--like a turbo with a T04S cover... to see if it clears the distributor

hope your waste gate is the 4 bolt pattern
I'm not too worried about it. I've built complete turbo setups from scratch for years.... If the flange needs to be cut off and replaced with a different one thenI'll do just that. That is easy compaired to making and entire tubular header from scratch... for the money even if I have to modify it I am way ahead of the game compaired to building one from scratch IMO. Hope mine shows up tomorrow as planned!!!!!

What do these ebay combo's end up finishing at...they all start at US$199...and they cost like US$750 if you buy direct from their website. So how much do they usually get to on ebay?

Has anyone purchased the kit that is shown sitting on a blue rug? Because the manifold in the picture is for a GTE? Is it just a mistake and they actually send out the correct GE manifold?
Here is the link

I'm very certain that's just an error in the ad itself. All of the vendors get their stuff from the same place... manifold, dp and everything

These guys claim "lifetime warranty against cracks and workmanship" ..... obviously they have some confidence behind their product? Why haven't these guys started making 1JZ manifolds? Is anyone on this forum running an ebay manifold?
JoeyG
10-16-2005, 04:28 AM
The thing is, is that international delivery is US$50 cheaper with the kit on the blue rug than the kit on the red rug.
And yeah your right Bean, they would come from the exact same factory in China, assuming they do send the correct GE manifold.

jargon's came in last week
I have been busy, not had a chance to post, but my manifold came in Friday before lunch and it looks great. thick flanges, sturdy feeling, and fairly heavy indicating there is some mass there. inside the flanges look great too, they have all been ground on and smoothed down in there which is where I was expecting to have to do some work if any, but to my supprise it is all in good shape already. all the TIG welds look great - good heat transfer and the welds are nice and sunk in and not blown all over the place or piled up like I mud dobber.
I ened to ass out the cash for the turbo and wastegate and intercooler. I bought this header, DP , dump tube first, so I can now go choose my parts around it and not have to change fmanges. that same place I got the header from also has 4 bolt HKS style wastegates in 40 and 50 mm and I am thinking about trying those out too. Hell, I may test out a lot of their products before this is over. lol
they also came with all the bolts and gaskets too!!!

I'm interested in seeing how they fit. There was an eBay add a while back for one of these manifolds and the seller stated that it would not work on the NA Supra, I don't know why but that was his comment.

What size turbo would you all consider run on the ebay manifold? It comes with a t4 flange dont it. I am also considering getting this manifold, dp, wg pipe, intake combo but very on sure of what turbo to consider.

What kind of spool? Price range? Etc. Just do some research or give us some hints on what kind of power you are trying to make.

The manifold bolted on without a problem. However this was on a vvti Supra. I have a feeling that a turbo with a 4 inch inlet would not clear the distributor, a 3 inc inlet in a pinch. Mayby.

Unfotunately I do not have any pictures. The manifold was test fitted and then removed as the engine is is being built. You know vvti engines are weak.
Next week I will have my own set of the same header and will take some pics of it installed on my car. However my car is an SC so that won't illustrate the futment in a Supra.

hmm, I know yall have supras and SC's, but I have a GS300, and It says on the site that the manifold, dp, dump tube, and intake pipe will fit the 93-97 GS3, and I was just wondering if anyone else here has a GS3 and has test fitted or anything? I would think the engines are exactly the same so therefore the distributor would be in the same place, but who knows? It also says it fits the SC3, anyone tested it on that? Just wondering as I am getting pretty close to buying all the necessities for the turbo job. Theres go to be someone out there with the ebay manifold.

So the ebay manifolds do work but you have to move the flange a couple degrees so it will clear the distributor right? I just want to know because I want to get this manifold to start on my Na-t kit...
Hmm i wonder if a master power 60-1 will clear, since the turbine side should be smaller then the t61. I just want it to work so bad lol.
turbine side size has nothing to do with fitment... its a T4 flange so it mounts the same
a 60-1 wont clear either, it uses the same compressor housing as the T61... a T04S

Should be ok with this turbo, may require small amounts of modification.

just change the housing over. Looks like a 3" intake, so itll scrape through.
