JDM (Japanese Domestic Market) Engine & Transmission Set from a Toyota Supra with a JZA70 chassis. This engine set comes with only the pieces shown in the pictures. There is an ECU, airbox, intercooler with piping. There in NO IGNITOR. The main wiring harness bundle is complete and uncut to the ECU but some of the branch wiring may have been cut in order to remove the wiring from the chassis. It has approx. 80,156 miles on it. This is used and comes with a 30 day startup warranty that begins on the day of pickup or delivery. AG

Are you swapping this into an SC300?

no 94 supra na with auto transWow that's different. Well I don't suspect the engine mounts are the same, nor the tranny mounts, but good luck with that project!

1jz in an mkiv has been done.. some guy on supraforums did it a while back.........

the motor/trans should mount up fine, im almost positive youll need a driveshaft. I dont know how the accessories will handle it though. the typical power steering reservior/lines from the 93+ tt will be needed, and you might have you use the n/a compressor from your existing engine. Good luck converting it to 5spd

oil pan is different and mounts. You may get lucky using your old mounts but im betting on some fabracation involved plus you will need to do somthing with the drive shaft and its a pre 92 engine set. Some say the newer 1j's are better i am almost convinced.

The best and easiest way would be to buy a soarer auto set (cheap) that way you get the right oil pan plus a fresher (newer motor) and source a cheap w58 from a lexus or na mk4 supra. Good luck oh and hurry up you only have 30 days

Seems like alot of work and $ invested. Why not source a mild na-t kit?

I picked up my 1JZ complete set (motor, auto tranny, uncut harness, ecu, all accessories, side mount ic) from JHOT 5 months ago for $999.99... i guess they wanted more for the 5spd. Theres an ignitor on fleabay right now for around $100

That is INCORRECT. The Soarer and JZA70 variations of the 1jz have the same oil pans. Plus the "newer" 1jzs are VVTI variations with single turbos... while a cool motor in itself, it has NO aftermarket and it costs prolly 2x as much. I'm unsure of the mounts, but I'd bet money they are the same too.

The engine set he got with the JZA70 already comes with a 5-speed R154... why would he want the weaker W58?

For a SC300 swap, getting the JZA70 engine set is kinda a bad idea... however if you're swapping into a MKIV, then it really doesnt matter since the harness has to be completely redone anyways and nothing is plug and play. With the JZA70 you get the GOOD transmission.

Its because he bought a JZA70 cut. It costs more than a Soarer cut because it normally comes with a manual tranny AND because its more rare. (the JZA70 is I mean)

yeah sorry for the goof up on the oil pan i was thinking chaser and jzx81 with the front sump.

i was just trying to go the cheapest route as everyone seems to be shopping price, So yes i have and would use a w58 due to cost i find some fro m350 and cheaper complete with clutch and flywheel.

although the r154 is a little nicer but does cost on average close to a grand complete with corect clutch and flywheel also you shouldnt discount the w58

also its really nice when a manual car mk4 or sc300 comes in and you can just use the auto (cheaper) soarer set and they due seem to be nicer motors then the ones for the mk3

good looking out

Cheap route, that I can understand hehe :)

Cheapest route IMO is a Soarer cut with an auto... sell the auto on ebay... pick up a JZ-flanged R154 bellhousing, pick up a R154 from a junkyard for dirt cheap and get the correct flywheel and clutch and away you go :)

Shifter may or may not line up, no one has documented this mod yet that I've seen... might need the Soarer R154 tailshaft to line up correctly

You're on your own... there's one guy on SF that did the swap... but I'm unsure of his name.... that will most likely be your only lead...

And you're doing the wrong project if you really think there's going to be an indepth writeup for it.

Basicly you need to get the wiring manuals or pinouts for your car and your engine set and you should be in business. The easiest way to pull this off would be have a 5 speed car and buy an auto soarer enghine set and bam done in a few days. It seems that you took a more dificult route so you have your work cut out for you. Good luck
