1jz 240sx

Just looking to see if anyone has done this swap. I have seen a few on the web but not much information. I have done several sr20's and would like something much stronger. I'm told that the 1jz had a midsump pickup and the 2jz is a rear sump. I think that the rear sump would interfere with the crossmember. If anyone has any more information i would appreciate it. If your reading this Chino i may be calling on you to help me wire this thing. I am the guy with the blue 240sx that hangs out with Dave.

Do it! I have contemplated doing this over and over in my mind but have not had the chance or the money!

I dunno about the rear sump interfering with the crossmember... the stock KA24 has a rear sump oilpan. The 1jz from the Soarer and JZA70 Supra is a rear sump... the JZX90 and other models are front sump.

I also have a car ready for some kind of swap... I'm leaning towards a V8,but the 1jz is a nice option... problem is the wiring, Nissan and Toyota wiring work a little bit differently...

Yeah the wiring is what worries me but i think i can do it. I also luckily managed to track down a guy at a shop in cali that has done 3 of these but he used the 2jz so i think i will give it a try

If you are getting the install kit from 2jzswap.com you ABSOLUTLEY need the front sump pan!!! I am currently looking for a front sump for a 2jz if anyone has one!!! And yes the wiring will be hard but not impossible you just need the pinout for your year 240 and the pinout of the 1/2jz engine then refference them!!! Sorry i am wasted so i can;''t spell!!! Nice first posyt huh?!? HAHA

its been done.... check out vipstylecars... there's a 240 with a 2jz in it... if they can do that then they can def. do a 1jz

Hi bro.
you can do it.

I do a 2JZ swap on 240sx by using Aristo 2Jz front sump

and I work now on a 1JZ swap on 240sx also you must use front sump from (chaser 1JZ I think) or you can use Aristo 2JZ front sump it fit on the 1JZ.

YOU CAN NOT USE REAR SUMP TO FIT ON 240SX.......

Yes you need a front sump pan,KA koyo rad,custom DP to make the the s chassis exhaust fit,custome IC pipes and some misc stuff. You should get the 2jzswap.com kit, its very nice. I am doing a 1JZ in my s13 coupe.
