where u located?

I'd reccomend Mobil 1 synthetic 10w30 which is what Lance @ Toyomoto reccomends for Supra NA-T's, and and Lexus IS300 NA-T's...

Yup 10w30 Mobil one here. I also use the Mobil1 filter intended for the V8's. Not sure if it's worth it, but Toyota stopped making the V8 ones so...

If you don't wanna go synth you can't go wrong with Castrol GTX.

Mobile 1 10W30 as most people said or go with Royal Purple/Redline 10W30. Any full synthetic oil that costs $5 a quart is usually good.

A lot of turbo folks have been using 15w50 synthetic oil and recommended I do the same  ..but have been corrected by daveH to use "no more than 10w30 synthetic max [for NA-T] apps" so i'm exchanging my 15w50 for 10w30 hehe.

what are the advantages of going to 10w30 from 5w30 when going na-t?

10w30 is thicker, I believe.

10 is thicker at start up than the 5, the 30 is what it will be at temperature

is there anything wrong with going from regular oil to synthetic just like that? i read it on supraforums that there are some downsides from using reg. oil to synthetic

Only thing that might happen is a small leak. Don't dump the syn out, let it run for a few more changes and see it if stops. Most syns have a better cleaning package than dinos
