You should have asked the question in the other thread that is currently active....... rather than make a whole new thread about the same question.

I've read about persons blowing vvti motors at 340rwhp and also at ~310rwhp. Someone more experienced than me, told me the limit was 333rwhp...but I'd feel safer at 300rwhp.

i'd say 300-330 on STOCK Compression

up to 400 with LOWER compression with a headgasket/ARP headstuds

I think I read about it on www.is300.net, this person blew their motor with headgasket mod @ 340rwhp... :dunno:

Sorry about that , but I read that thread and it seems to be talking about the pre vvti motors and I wanted to make sure that I was specifically getting responses about the vvti motor as they seem to have weaker rods than the non-vvti motors !
Again sorry if this causes any problem/duplication in the forums but i just wanted to be specific ! Thanks to all for their info/responses !

Damn the VVT-I sucks shit...

What if you put a VVT-I head on a ge non-VVT-I shortblock? Wouldnt you get the avantages of both worlds?

Is the GTE block from a non or vvti motor ? Or does it even matter, are both the GTE shortblocks the same regardless of non or vvti ?

It is a brand new GTE shortblock from Toyota I got last spring....(for a Supra TT)

there was never a US version of a GTE vvt-i motor, only Japanese
