Yes i have done my research and everything else. Just wondering from experienced guys the price differnce. I am debating between teh na-t swap and the na-tt swap. I will not do the 6 speed conversion either way for awhile. I was just wondering if 5k was enough for the tt swap, b/.c that was my budget for the na-t? Also is it a better base? I have no idea how healthy my engine and everythign is for na-t so id rather start with a whole new engine especailly the 2jzgte, thanks for your time guys

5k is not near enough for the TT swap. I cant speak for jdm engine. BUt my friend just priced out a swap for his sc300 and he got clost to about 12k for engine and tranny and the necessities.

1jz swap is most common and can be accomplished for easily under 5k.

I guess as far as your budget goes, that would depend on how much of the work you can do yourself. You should be able to do it........

I can price you a phenomenally better performing NA-T setup for $3,500 (including some labor costs). IMHO, NA-T is cheaper with better power/price ratio since you're going directly to a single turbo setup. The 2JZ-GTE is also a great engine. If you're staying under 650rwhp, I think the 2JZ-GE is better for your money. But if you're not happy with your engine and want to do the swap, going with a JDM 2JZ-GTE will save ou considerable money. I know a shop in TX that has performed a full JDM 2JZ-GTE swap for $3,000 total. That includes the labor and parts.

Just remember if you want more power that a single turbo will provide, going NA-T is more cost effective in my opinion....and easier. :yumyum: 2JZ-GTE will hold more power in stock form fwiw... Agan, this all depends on your power goals for the car.

IMHO you should be able to pull the na - tt swap around 5k. But with a budget that low I highly doubt you will be able to do a drivetrain swap since the v160 aka getrag runs around 2g's that doesnt include the mounts , diff , driveshaft , etc. But for 5k you should be able to pick up a jdm or usdm 2jzgte (jdm 2jz is cheaper but does require extending harness and a few other things to convert to usdm but its not that big of a deal, you will also need the tt ignitor(probably spelled that wrong) and a tt tach and some other stuff , all info is on supraforums). But to re-state , yes you can pull off the tt swap for around 5k but you will be using the w58 and stock drivetrain which I heard is rated to usually go around 400hp (I heard this off another forum, not totally sure, I have heard some people going into 500's on stock drivetrain). But if you read the n/a section on the supraforums someone figured out how to make the w58 as strong as a r154 so that also might help you on your decision on what you want to do. Like said above its on dependent on your power goals. Good luck , hope this helps.
