I am running a sp60 turbo on stock compression and gasket. I would like to know what hp levels my turbo is capable of, so if I want to turn up the boost I know how what hp levels ill be running at. I have fears of tranny blowing if too high, so I want to see what boost this turbo can support if I upgrade to a new tranny.

I would worry about blowing your motor before ruining your transmission seeing as you have a rather large turbo with high compression.

I would recommend a maximum of 8 PSI.

Get a .5 bar spring if possible, run there, tune it, and just cruise. I wouldn't worry about much else......

Shit you're running 11.5 psi on stock compression. I wouldnt recommend boosting any higher then that.

Are you on stock timing or did you retard it?

Stock timing

The consensus is that it's only a matter of time before you blow your engine since your timing iss not retarded at all and you're running 11.5psi on stock compression. You will be doing some type of damage to your engine very soon if it hasn't been done already. :eek3:

How would I retard the timing enough to handle it?

I can always go back to my .7 or .5 if needed but would like to stay at .8

Retard the timing via the distributor adjustment. I'm not sure if this a permanent fix and the ECU will re-adjust timing automatically back to stock settings though. It's probably safer to use something proven like the MSD 6BTM that retards timing per pound of boost. www.msdignition.com Get it with the tach adapter. :ugh2:

I check'd the site, it showed me where there are local shops where to purchase and little about the module. What are most people running as far a timing retard? Also is there any way to go around this if possible? I have a friend who is selling his brand new 3mm hg and could always install that if needed.

The more you retard the timing, the more your EGTs will increase. Too high EGT = meltdown :runaway: . The thickness of your headgasket upgrade will depend on your power goals I believe. If you upgrade to something like a supra TT headgasket, you can reliably run 1 bar of boost and not have to retard timing :cuddle: . thats what my research tells me at least :eek3:

on stock compression id run no more than 13psi on 100 octance and thats pushing it .. maybe think about some meth injection but HG is the best route

Ok so ill work on getting that hg put on.

Bah, water/meth injection is what you need.
