Alright folks, i plan on installing a 1jz in my lexus is200 very soon, initially i wanted to do the 2jz-gte but decided to go for the 1jz-gte. Basically i have something to admit..... my knowledge of the iring side of things is rubbish!
I plan on getting everything organised as much as possible before i attempt anything and the main thing that seems to concern any garage ive spoken to about doing the work is the wiring being a nightmare. I have been told to consider several options,
>that i use something like the Autronic SM2 piggy backed across the Lexus ECU.
>I get a complete loom from a car such as a soarer which the engine came from and try to install it with a Greddy e-manage ultimate which i have already wired up as a piggy back to keep the fueling under control.
Which route would be advisable for the swap, for those who are unfamiliar with the engine i currently have its a 1G-FE which comes standard. I am completely open to suggestions as i have nothing decided upon or bought yet.
I'm in way over my head here but im determined to get this sorted out and eventually get my head round the whole thing lol. Ideally i would get my car to a garage and get them to do the entire build from start to finish but everyone i speak to about it seems to think its not possible without a lot of stress, but a lot have done this now and i want to join in lol.
