ok guys, i am about to purchase a fic-6 and i have some questions. this will be used on my 99 gs 300, with a vvti GE.

1.) can i eliminate the maf with the fic? if so, what else do i need besides the fic?

2.) exactly what should i do about the o2 sensors? ive seen people having problems with them so i want to know what the right way to hook them up is.

3.) can the fic read a wideband sensor? like if i just buy the sensor can i plug it into the fic instead of buying a UEGO system or something!

4.) ill be installing the fic before i get to turbo the car and driving around on it like that. should i just set everything to "0" so it doesnt change the stock ecu settings? than when i turbo it i can tune, or should i start data logging and maybe try to squeeze a few extra HP outta my NA car! lol

5.) i know i can have a few different maps with the fic, things like a daily drive tune, and than also a race map, is there a boost controller that works with the fic? i saw the fic-8 does boost control but i want to just be able to take the laptop out, click on the race map, and be ready to go, and not have to deal with a seperate boost controller! this will make my life 10X easier! lol.

I have only just wired up the FIC to my car GTE with T61 kit. Don't really know how to use it yet, just read the manual many times and researching for now. Please note these replies are from a complete newbie.

1) Yes using the analogue A/B channel, you can "clamp" it and add all additional fuel via FIC.

2) I've kept my stock narrow band sensor using a universal from bosch because it's threaded and the stock one is flanged, wont fit in the down pipe. For the post cat sensor, have welded an extended flange on and kept that as well. The FIC allows closed loop to be altered but you'd need the narrow band o2 to do this. Wideband can be hooked up to the FIC, but the supra ECU's can't cope with this signal.

3) No the FIC can only receive a wideband signal for viewing. So you'd need a wideband sensor as well as accompanied unit like the AEM UEGO or Innovate LC1 or equivelant.

4) asking same question about setting everything to "0". But I bet you could use it to squeeze some power and work off this as your base to add to when turbo's added. will post the AEM forum thread up that I started here on this forum shortly.

5) The FIC I have doesn't do boost control. But it does have a dual calibration function that can be changed with a ground switch at the touch of a button. This can be used in conjunction with preset boost levels on a EBC.

Didn't know they had different version of the FIC hardware, only software updates. interesting...
