Underdrive Crank pulley

What are the pros and cons of having a underdrive crank pulley? No harmonic balancer.

i've heard nothing good about them. couple people said they had to replace their alternators pretty quick.

i had one on my stealth and was told it was the reason i spun a bearing(no harmonic balancer)

well i know from a bit of experiance with dsms that once under higher horsepower they have to have their balance shafts deleted and replaced with a windage tray also the balance shafts go out alot on just the stock dsms as well esp the 420a (neon block) as for our cars i havent heard much of anything of the guys getting rid of them but i do know that if u remove the balance shaft all together you need a windage tray as to prevent oil sloshing around and possibly not getting picked up while accelerating through a turn also simply not a good idea for the motor
