guess what. SC400 harness plugs into supra ecu. they have the same clip which is good news. i can run aem ems from supra.

the motor mounts came ripped so i have to buy new ones. supra is in the body shop now getting engine painted so its not ghetto red/black anymore.

I have decided im going single. Twin is too complicated; too many problems.
After we make the manifolds well see what size i can fit. im hoping i can squeeze at least a 76 in the space. the turbo will be mounted in front of the motor.

Damn thats huge....where is the turbo gonna be mounted?? In the rear inplace of the muffler like some of the LS1 guys do??


If not, rethink going twin. V8 twin supra would be just beyond sick!!

i was going to run a twin gt30/35 r setup but it would be way too much piping everywhere plus i will have double the chance of problems. we are just going to have 2 manifolds leading to one single. nice and simple. good spool time. good power. one 4 inch exhaust all the way back.

You never cease to amaze me dude!!! i actually had the idea for the lexus v8 awhile ago, just no money to fund the project LOL. But good luck cant wait to see the finished project :)

how much HP can the stock block hold?

As for the ECU connection, the plug may be the same, but you'll need to verify all the pinouts. I'm sure there are issues with both.

i got the motor for 930 shipped w/harness. i think i might have paid a little too much but i thought it was worth it because i got a 65k mile motor compared to the typical 90k+ the warehouses carry.

i plan to modify internals. forgot stock compression but i know its good for 13 psi unlike the 2jz 8 psi stock compression on the na motor. i think the stock block is good for upwards of 600 which seems to be like the 2jz ge.

i want to do low compression pistons (8:5:1) which are good for like 800 hp. arp studs everywhere possible. new gaskets everywhere aswell.

for sure now im going single. i wont know what size until we build the manifold because im not sure what will fit.

and i am running mufflers for sure because i was planning to str8 pipe it but it will be too loud i think. besides i have the wastegate to light it up for me when i need.

so my mufflers came in for the custom center dual exhaust we were making.

i realized it might be really hard to hang them under the modillista diffuser and they will hang way too low. so im either going to return them or sell them and try a different idea.

damn dude good luck with your project. Seems like you beat all the club lexus members on getting a single turbo on thier 1uz.

well i dont think i really beat them all cause im sure it will take a while. i have a huge feeling were going to run into so many problems.

any update on your engine swap? I am curious about the swap. Oh and I was wondering, would the 1uz engine make good power with just upgraded internals and basic bolt ons? just wondering...

stock compression is 10:1 just like the GE... and the 2jz can run 12-14psi on stock compression if you have control of the ignition timing; I ran 10-12 on mine on 93 octane with no issues for over a year.

I duno what the stock BLOCK can handle... the 1uz wont quite handle as much as the 2jz since its an aluminum block... but the 2jz BLOCK can handle over 2000hp just fine... internals are another matter.

As far as the manifolds, best idea I can suggest, is to at least try to get a set of headers and build off of them. They will already be prebuilt for you, and you can run decent sized pipes up to a single turbo.

I'm glad this is the way people are starting to go now... I remember posting on clublex about 2 years ago with this idea... back then everyone was screaming supercharger or twinturbos.

Best advice I can offer, is beware of the lextreme website you are getting info from. 'Lextreme' as a poster on clublex and on supraforums posts A LOT of bad information. He is not a 'fountain of knowledge' on turbocharging the 1uz like he wants everyone to think. Be careful.

woa woa woa...hold on a sec, this is the urban customs with the lambo doors and that nice paintjob thats been na-t right? and ure doing wat exactly here? swaping a V8 in to ure supra and going single???? wow man cant wait to see it done, never seen a v8 supra, except for the JGTC, good luck with that man, wanna see more pics
