Ok, so basically it'd be the biggeset PITA ever to swap a 1jz from a chaser into a soarer and not even worth considering?

The reason i'm asking is because if you decided to go 1.5jz it might be a feasible alternative. ECU is diff, but all the ecu does is control the engine, and should be seperate from the chassis harness. The auto ECU and the ECU that controls the engine should be the same...even if the harness is a little different shouldn't all the EFI stuff be the same except you just splice into maybe the chassis harness for the ignition stuff?

The wiring on the Chaser would be a nightmare trying to make it work with the Soarer chassis.

Harness, ECU, motor mounts, etc

Also, keep in mind the Chaser had a single turbo 1JZ-GTE while the Soarer came with the non sequential twin turbo 1JZ-GTE.

Good looking out though, I didn't know that - is that a VVt-i motor? Or no?

I honestly don't know. Since I sold my 1JZ Supra many years ago I haven't been keeping up with Toyotas all that much. Sorry if the info wasn't helpful, I was just trying to shed a little more light on the different variations of the 1JZ-GTE.
