Guys I am having a problem with the little filter on the passenger rear of the vavle cover that realeases crankcase pressure. Under boost (13lbs) it leaks oil down onto the exhaust, is this normal as it leaks pretty bad sometimes. I have built a little catch can system but wonder if its a good idea. Is this a case of something else being weak as in rings or such?

A little leakage is fairly normal. How much oil do you get in the catch can over a period of time?

I haven't checked it since I put it on there. When I was @ the track after about 4-5 runs it was dripping on the ground and exhaust (smoking). When I get on it under boost there is a smell of burning oil and I am afraid that the catch can setup is to restrictive and not releasing the pressure as it should.

why not just put a breather filter on it?

Thats how it was and what was leaking, this is the reason I have it setup the way I do.

Sorry to say but that much oil coming out of the breather isn't good. Do a compression and/or leakdown test on your engine. Did it just start pumping out this much oil?

I haven't had the car that long so as long as I have had it yes it has. I will do a leak down aand a compression soon to check it out.

Well I did a comp test and a leak down and I have a cylinder with 40% leak down past the rings and only about 138 comp. Looks like its time for some JE's, I was fixing to buy a SC61 but it looks like that is on the back burner now.

doesnt sound healthy to me, my car leakes a little bit of oil too from the same place, that is normal, but not that much oil, get that checked out.

Im in the same boat bro-
car runs fine but leaks and smokes like crazy, from the breather filter.
NA/T troubles man, NA/T troubles.
For the cost, I think it will be cheaper to just pick up a used motor.
