Hey guys i was wondering, which internals do most of you guys use when use get to the 6-700hp mark..I was talking to a company out here (AZ) about doing a motor build and they said that the bottom end of the 2jzge can handle upwards of 600hp..Im lookin to boost my SC but dont wanna blow anything..any advise would be appreciated.

I've ran the stock internals in my car for many years. I'd say at 600-700rwhp they are fine, as long as you are tuned well/safely.

TT internals... I am throwing those in as we speak. I should be done in lets say a few more days...
I am sure the TT's can handle somewhere near 800 or so RWHP if not a bit more..

so i should stick with stock or TT internals?...to stay away from a pricey build...also i dont kno if you guys realized i have a 92sc300..the TT internals would swap right in tho right?..thanks

as long as ur engine has been maintained, u have absolutely no reason why to do a rebuild, just make sure u throw in a thicker head gasket to lower compression, and get it well tuned, and why r u guys rebuilding ur engines with ''TT'' internals? (LOL) THEY R THE SAME THING AS A NON-TURBO ENGINE HAS. JUST DIFFERENT BUT AS GOOD PISTONS. SO U GUYS R JUST PUTTING THE SAME SHIT ON.

cool...seems like everyone says the same thing in here and at clublex..cept you guys said to put on a thicker head gasket..so that looks like the way im gonna go..yeah so if the internals are the same then why would i swap them?...

Good question.
:-)
Actually, the TT pistons are a better way of lowering the compression ratio than a thicker head gasket, because they help keep the quishband more correct. But still, it's generally not worth tearing a engine apart just for that. If you need to take the engine apart anyway, then Ii'd use TT pistons

Because newer 2J's 2002+ have much wussy-er internals... Older 2JZ-GE's have stronger and thicker rods along with decent pistons...

Yes, the '98 and later vvti engine have weaker rods, but the guy asking the question has a '92 (big letters in his screen name and sig file) so your advice to upgrade to TT internals wasn't good advice.

Depends on what pistons you chose. If you're using TT pistons that you'll use the TT headgasket. If you're using NA pistons then you can use either a 2, 2.5, or 3 mm headgasket depending on what compression you're trying to achieve.

2 stacked TT headgaskets would do good.

LEO - would i choose the size of the head gasket depending on how much boost i was lookin for?....im plannin on running 10-15psi...

So and so but you should also keep in mind low end drivability. A 3 mm headgasket will drop your static compression to around 8.5:1 which is a big change from 10:1, you'll notice a pretty big lost in low end power. For 10-15 PSI, a 2 mm headgasket will be sufficient. A 2 mm will drop your compression down to around 9:1 which is boost friendly but it will still be high enough to give you low end power.
