Maybe not unconfirmed. How's everyone? My interest was recently peeked by a friend to consider the gs300 as a turbo sedan project. Originally, I was all set on a e34 540i platform for a boosted ls1 swap. he got to talking about a jdm 2jzgte setup in either the 1st gen gs3 or preferably the 2nd gen. I have been searching all the boards related to the gs3 and/or 2jzgte power plant. the engine and swap is pretty much straightforward. no confusion there. the 2 main issues I've run into are tuner preference on generation gs3 such as why 1 gen is better than the other gen for tuning. I like both, but the 2nd gen does stand out more to me. also, info. is it handles better than the 1st gen. Are there any realistic and proven reasons why 1 gen is better than the other for tuning?
Second issue is engine management. No 2 people seem to be running the same system without nagging problems. I'm speaking of standalone. no oink-oink for me. My power goals for the car are a modest 400 to 500hp. My overall goals for the car are DD duties with a few butt kicking burst in between. Basically something I can sit back, put in drive and cruise with on tap power if needed.
Most importantly, I want everything the car was built with to work, such as TC and stability. I've seen some vids of 2nd gen gs3's but no one has spoken about safety equipment operating correctly. would be nice if someone did a wet pavement run and maybe a decent 30 min drive on film. So, is there a proven SA system that everyone agrees is the better system for a vvtti 2nd gen model gs3? and what functions of the stock system are lost do to SA install? I am not going to say money is no object because it is. I pride myself on spending my hard earn dollars smartly and all work will be done by me ,except the exhaust system. I'll leave that to someone else. I just want what i pay for. Maybe I've touched on a few things that have not been asked or answered on this board yet.
