Ok...so the car was finally finished yesterday, however, there are some problems...I guess I should have known, there are always problems.
First problem...I turned the car to the on position without turning the car on so I could set the AFC to the base settings I have. AFC is getting no power...I'm going to recheck the wire splicer taps tomorow to see if the power ones are connected. I guess that would be the problem for that?
Anyway, I cranked the car to turn it on and let off so I could get some oil flow through...second time, the car practically turned over immediately, so I was nervous, and then it died. So we roll the car back to check for oil because we saw some smoke...dumb friend forgot to tighten down one of the exhaust clamps...problem solved. No oil on the ground either, try to do it some more...turn the car on, if you floor the gas, it will idle at 400...on the verge of dying...kind of like old muscle cars, bogs down to 200 then up to 400 for a second then down to 200, then up to 400. So I turn it off because it sounds too rough, we are pissed but have to leave so we pack up for the day...roll the car back to its position and see some oil on the ground...must be an oil return leak, we have to find out what is leaking and fix it.
What could be the problem of it not idling correctly or also the fact that even if you floor the gas, it won't go above 500rpm...I think I found the idle screw, but it looks tight and it wouldn't budge so I couldn't raise idle. Is there any way that when I was wiring the AFC with the wire taps it might have actually cut one of the wires in two? Would that explain why my car won't idle right?
On a less important not, the intercooler pipe that comes off the throttle body, I don't think it's lined up right, I loosened all of the bolts but it won't line up better and in it's current position, it presses against the wheel well cover...any possible solution for that?
Any help needed...this is pissing me off, I wish I hadn't touched it in the first place...I've had the car out of driving for two and a half months, and now 4 days before I go back to Texas it screws up...I'm having to drive my girlfriends car back home, but I only have 2 weeks after Thanksgiving break to get it fixed...if I can't get this by tomorrow, I'm going to have to pay someone to fix it for me and that was what I was trying to avoid...
Thanks,
Bryan M.
