I'm just wondering what the market would be for a 1JZ SC300. Mine will be done soon and I'm uncertain as to what I want to do with the car.... I may try and sell it and start a different project. I'm just trying to see what kind of interest there is in this car......... it's a 93 Dark Metallic Green. Before it goes up for sale it will have a brand new paint job so the exterior will be mint. It will also be BPU+... let me know guys.

i dont see why it wont be a good seller. im sure it will be of some interest to some true tuners. but you know how it is with all this modding crap. we never get what we ask for.

It will probably be more reliable than the 2JZ-GE engine that's in the car now with higher mileage. :bigok:

i can use a green sc300 w/ a stock 1jz for a daily.....Well... the rundown Chino. A week from tommorow it's going into the paint shop to get a complete paint job + stock 92-96 wing. I'm also taking all the headlamps off the front of the car, taking them apart, and cleaning/polishing everything. The antenna is gettina shaved also, I'm going to use a S2000 unit off the back glass. So basically the exterior will be mint. The driver's seat track got f-ed up the week after I got it, but I've got a pretty nice seat that I'm about to swap in there. The interior is pretty clean for the year, plus I'll have it professionally cleaned [leather/carpet] when it gets out of the paint shop. My 1JZ should be here last week Nov/First week of Dec.... from there I'll get started on it. There won't be any corners cut... it will be going in bone-stock. I'm going to have a 3" exhaust run on it after the swap. After I get her all done I'll decide on a good price, I'm just trying to see if there is any market for the car currently, as I don't see any others for sale. If you want me to I'll put you first on my list. Thanks.

I cant guess a price for your car, things to consider, SC's gained a good amount of attrention latley. They arnt soaring in value but have went up a tad. Like supra's a manual will go for more than a auto. 6spd more more than a 5spd. Built auto more than a 5spd possibly? There have been 150k milage SC's selling for 20k w/ just a 2jzgte swap and being just clean with maybe axelbacks and afc's as mods. 1jz's willl of course be cheaper than 2jz swapped SC's NA-ts will vary. 97+ bodys will earn more. 1jz' can be swapped in a car for for under 2k so u could tecnnically make money on the ithe car if you do it yourself and havent had any other expenses with car.

Of course theirs allways people who want you have and will pay an extra premium to have it. Good luck with the swap and possible eventual sale.

My car has 113k miles on it, far from the 150k+ mile cars I'm use to seeing. That should be a plus in the "price" factor of mine. It should be a very clean SC300 that should go 13's without much effort.

In all seriousness Chris.... i'd build it and wait till f&f3 comes out to sell it.... Maybe the value of our cars will go up, and maybe it wont but it wont hurt to wait and see

If you figure maybee 2 grand above waht a non sc3oo cost. its not that special and it is the easiest swap and sc 300 are the bottom of the barrel when it comes to Lexus.

On another note the sc is fetching another 2 grand on average these days.

Also noticing the receant increase in prices for 1j motorsets damm the market is catchig on.

I wouldn't consider the SC the "bottom of the barrel" Lexus considering it cost more than the ES of course. I think there is a great following for these cars........ also the value is staying high. I'd probably sell my car bone-stock for about $7k. Only 114k, clean, new paint, etc. On top of this it has all the "Supra" goodies... supra wheels, nice rubber, LS4 brakes, suspension ,etc. Easily $2k worth of add-ons. The car has some other nice things like window tint, HIDS, etc. I'd prob take $10k for the car when it's done. I nice clean, lower-mileage Lexus SC300 that goes 13's... what more could you ask for?

your on it. just deduct about 2 grand in Florida due to the flood of 1j sc300 running about. And sorry for the bottom of the barrel coment but i dont really consider a es a real car being front drive and all and espeacialy not a conidate for a NA-T project.

I guess I'll have to block sales from Florida buyers! :fingersx: It should be a good buy for someone looking for a car that is pretty much complete. From there it would be up to how much power the person would want to make......

Well after talking to a few people about the value of the car I've come up with a price in the $12,500 range. I'm not set at this price, but I feel I will need to get somewhere around this amount to justify abandoning the project. The car is NOT for sale yet... but if there is any specific interest let me know. There is one girl down in Florida that is very interested, but she is currently trying to unload her car. I think this would be a very good car for someone to buy and make it into a beast or just drive the damn thing stock. It will be just as reliable as it was to start with.
